DotaCinema has just announced a $20,000 XMG Invitational tournament featuring Alliance, Fnatic, Na'Vi, RoX.Kis, Sigma.int, and Team Liquid, which will be playing against each other using Captains Draft as the game mode.
DotaCinema, shortly after the addition of Synderen into their crew, have just announced their first tournament: the XMG Captains Draft Invitational. Unlike numerous other tournaments that used Captains Mode as the main mode of choice, the XMG Invitational adds a new twist into the scene by utilizing Captains Draft instead of Captains Mode for the first time in a major tournament. The tournament will feature six top western teams, Alliance, Fnatic, Na'Vi, RoX.KIS, Sigma.int and Team Liquid, against each other for the bulk of the $20,000 prize pool in addition to 25% of the Dota 2 ticket revenue.

Captains Draft is a game mode that differs from its more regularly used counterpart, Captains Mode. While all of the heroes are available in Captains Mode, Captains Draft forces captains to choose from 24 randomly selected heroes: eight Strength, eight Agility and eight Intelligence heroes. Two heroes will be banned initially before the picking phase. The heroes will be drafted in this order: 1-2-2-2-2-1. Both teams will have 150 seconds to complete their bans and picks.
The tournament will commence on the 18th of February, which will follow a five week long round-robin format. One best-of-three match will be played each on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 19:00 CEST, and the top four teams from the round-robin will move into the one week long playoffs in a single-elimination best-of-five format matches.
The Invitational will feature the new casting duo of DotaCinema: Sunsfan and Synderen. Matches could be watched through the in game client, MLG.tv and DotaCinema.
