ComeWithMe: “We deserved an invite to the qualifiers”

Nicolae Alexandru ‘ComeWithMe’ Craciunescu was interviewed by The Premier League staff. The extensive interview includes his opinions about his team, his image in the Dota 2 scene and the future of the game against its competitors in eSports. He also talks about the International 3 and their rejection from the qualifiers.

Here is an excerpt from the interview:

You seem to be a rather controversial personality within the Dota 2 community, is it a difference in attitude or were there some specific happenings in the past tense of your pro career?

Hmm, I would say that I literally had a complete shit-attitude prior to Dota 2, when I was in DotA (1)…and I’ve started shifting it once I joined OK.Nirvana.Int. After that it kinda snowballed and I know for sure that my attitude and way of seeing things has changed a lot, but at the same time, I might be too honest compared to what some people can handle and what not. But like people say, some will like you and some will not, it’s just natural.

With the risk of breaking the good atmosphere we’ve got going here, I have to bring up one probably very unpleasant topic for you – The International. From what I know, first you couldn’t get a Visa for TI2, now your team wasn’t invited for TI3 – you must be somewhat bitter, right? Do you feel KP deserved to be invited?

I do feel like we deserved it, I think all the teams that got the invite deserved it and we did as well, but then the qualifier didn’t have that enough slots for everyone. Yes, I am bitter and I think it’s completely normal…I mean, not getting a chance to prove yourself you’re worthy of playing in the tournament is disappointing and sad.

Fair enough. Anyway, let’s say you did get an invite – do you think you’d have a chance at winning the qualifiers? Who would’ve been your biggest concern as far as teams go?

Well, we were all very confident that we would get TOP 2 at least in the qualifier before it started and even after. We don’t think like that, we don’t use the mentality that puts us into a situation where we are scared of one team more than the other, or anything that’s near this. We just stay positive as we know we proved to ourselves already that we can win against anyone and it all depends on us.
