G-1 League Asia qualifiers format released

Gosugamers has just received information on how the qualifiers for Asia is going to be in the G-1 League. No proper dates and no further information on the European format have been released.

G-1 has just told us the format for the Asian qualifiers. Here is the breakdown of the format.

The format for phase one is concrete while phase two and onwards may be subjected to change.

Phase one

An open qualifier will be free for all teams to register and from there, they will pick 32 teams to compete against each other until the top eight. The top eight will go through to the next phase.


Phase two

The eight qualified teams will be going against eight invited teams from SEA and China. Top four from the phase will move on to phase three. The invite list is possibly as below:

Malaysia ABC
China TongFu
Europe LGD.Int
China Vici Gaming 1
China Vici Gaming 2
China Rising Stars
China Rattlesnake


Phase three

The four qualified teams from phase two will be going up against the top four of last G-1 season. The top four from this phase will be invited to the G-1 League LAN finals later in the year. Top four of last season is as below:

China DK
China iG
Malaysia Orange

G-1 League admins did not gave us any details on the European qualifiers but our insiders told us that only two teams will qualifiy to the LAN finals of the G-1 League.

The first phase of the tournament may possibly begin this Saturday on the 16th of March.

The registration will begin right now and will close by the 15th of March, 19:00 SGT.

We are still waiting on G-1 for further confirmation of the schedule and more information on the European qualifiers.
