The Premier League fights back

Ange and his Premier League are currently in controversy due to Valve removing their tickets from the store, and workshop artist 't_vidotto' claiming he was underpaid for his work. TPL now releases a statement and documentation of their own.

Yesterday night, The Premier League released their statement along with documents with copies of invoices as well as records of them paying. The mentioned information can be found here. The recent accusations towards The Premier League was the underpayment of workshop artist Thiago 't_vidotto' Vidotto who designed Wynchell the Wyrmeleon courier used for season four of the tournament. Thiago was promised 20% of the sales revenue from the tickets and expressed disappointment in not knowing the real sales number. His name was not connected to the TPL ticket on Steam, leading to him not getting paid directly but having to invoice TPL at the end. You can read more information about the accusation here.

In TPL's response last night, records were published of Thiago sending an invoice of €5,536 and a record of the same amount being paid. If his cut was 20% of the revenue, the full amount would be €27,680. Whether that number is before or after Valve's taken their part of the sales is not mentioned but it is assumed to be after. The documentation released by TPL does not however, involve any indication of total sales or revenue, neither does it reveal any contract. Same goes with the invoice to David 'GoDz' Parker for casting TPL Masters, where he was paid based on the ads' revenues, no totals were displayed. The lack of full disclosure shed doubts in the whole affair with neither part of the decisions taken proven to be correct. No comment has been made by Valve, who removed all TPL tickets from the store and claimed their license to host tournaments to be revoked. Laurent 'Ange' Blum however left a comment that they will publish the sales records for Premier League season four, for which Thiago made the courier.

All fixed amounts have been paid out though, the casters of the recent season (Blaze, Triumph, VeRsuta) received their promised amount and expressed satisfaction in the process. Teams also received their winnings from previous seasons. The winners of the most recent season five did not gotten paid yet, but the payment process is said to take up to three months and roughly one and a half month have passed since the end of the tournament. Teams expressed positivity about receiving the pending payments.

Season six was originially intended to start on Sunday (September 8th) using the same cup-based format as last season. TPL mentions "future plans frozen" and Ange claims details are currently unknown but it will be delayed for certain.
