The second play-day of group A has come to an end. After some exciting CIS DotA, iCCup and Virtus.Pro came out on top and qualified for the playoffs.
In the Upper Bracket final, an in-form iCCup tangoed with a newly reformed Rox.Kis for the first place of the group. After a really long pause in game 1, both team pulled out every trick they had in a 75-minute bloodfest which eventually saw iCCup emerging as the better team. Game 2, on the other hand, was a complete stomp by iCCup as they forced the "gg" before the 30-minute mark with a kill score of 28-9. Resolut1on, once again, showcased his immense talent as he dominated the mid-lane in both games and pulled his team forwards in the tournament.
Pushed down to the runner-up match, Rox.Kis ran into a very serious Virtus.Pro. Rox.Kis succeeded in winning game 1 with the tried-and-true combination of CK + Wisp, but VP was in no way intimidated. NS picked up the two orb-walkers known as Outworld Devourer and Viper in game 2 and VP rolled over Rox in just 20 minutes game time. Game 3 was the same story as VP was able to draft a very strong line-up with Phantom Lancer, Weaver and Furion. They dominated the early game and snowballed effectively with a free farming Lancer. It was only a matter of time before VP pushed into Rox's base with the Aegis and Rox called "gg" after a fantastic four-man Impale by Ars-Art. Virtus.Pro balanced at the brink of elimination throughout the group but in the end made it through as the second team to go to the playoffs
Group B will begin in two days with Fnatic taking on TCM Gaming and Kaipi facing off against Quantic Gaming. Fnatic and Quantic are clear favorites to top this group, but Kaipi has proven that they can hold their own against top teams. TCM Gaming, the underdogs of this group, can only look to do their best and prove that they're not there simply to fill the spot.
