- From WCG Sweden Online Preliminary
Wow, what a difference. What a difference! Do you all remember the last nation vs nation game between Sweden and Germany, you know the one which was a total catastrophe (No? » Here it is) Anyway, that was a long time ago so my expectations of this event wasn't bad, actually I was really looking forward to it. I was updating the list latenight yesterday and at that time, only four players had payed for their participation. Huk, 5 spots, 4 gamers? T_T
Anyway, as I got home from school (which was quite boring as usual) I saw lots of new registrations. Names such as Willet, Kimthan and ZeuS made me happy too see. So, around 16.00 CET we began the tournament. In two minutes the amount of users in the channel increased from 2 to 35. I finished the brackets and we started playing, almost immediateley. One of the big changes from last time was the good manner. As soon as money is involved, the level of seriousness, manner and engagement increased a lot! With no whining at all, no delays and no problems, the games started after my single command: - "Play!". Wow! That's an improvement since the nation vs nation game, isn't it? =)

Nothing really much to comment here. This was the first seeding so the results was kind of predictable. Except for the last game. Nightshade vs Whiz, 2-0 ? What happend? Well, I don't know and neither did Whiz. Gausch he was mad!

This is more interesting. Willet > Balzamon, predictable. Kimthan > Perfecsisys 2-0, huumm.. alright. ZeuS > LovE 2-1 great games. But Nightshade > Unchained 2-0. Hmm what's going on? :O
Nightshade (*wanted* - information sent to us about this guy will be rewarded) caused some serious spaming from Unchained's side and made him really angry. Great work, man!

And so the last hope for Whiz to make it to the final was crushed :( I know he was upset before the game and I didn't see him after it, but I hope he is still alive (he is in the national team that's why I want him -.-)

My hat! (speaking of it - you know where the * I've put it?) These results just keep on suprising me. Kimthan > Willet 2-0 ? Oh man! Kimthan is hot, not hot, but he is hot! This gives him a winning streak by 6 games! And this Nightshade? Man! He got 6 wins in a row, too! He beat the crap out of Whiz, Unchained and now Zeus, gogogo! These results gave Kimthan and Nightshade two of the five spots for the national final. The last game between them was never played, because Kimthan was installing his new 'Jens of Sweden' (whatever that is) which he happily announced just had arrived to him. Anyway it didn't matter, so no problem.

This means that Perfecsisys and WiLLEt qualified for the national final. But, who would be the fifth one? The last game, a best out of one @ LT had to be played between ZeuS and Love to determine the winner.

That game was soooo lame. Read my comment at that replay for a match review. So, ZeuS out and iD.LovE to the final (September 14th)
Perfecsisys and Willet, both already qualified, wanted to play their game anyway. Willet here shows us his feared, dangerous and valuable terran (right), played at Lost temple.

Too bad, he lost. :P
Qualified for the national final:
x) Kimthan
x) Nightshade
x) Perfecsisys
4) WiLLEt
5) iD.LovE
Congratulations!
Lots of protoss and zergs. Where are you humans? And as I said in the beginning, what a difference. From one event to another, the lamers and the bad manners just disappeared. I've had very fun today, I want to thank the community for turning this event into something very fun, something that atleast I will remember as one of the best online events for a long time. Thanks to the Crew the ones who where there, and thanks for keeping my personal spirits up and supporting me in this work, all of you!
A friend of mine asked me, as this event began (16.00 CET (!)) if I wanted to go see a film with him. I said sure, this will be done in about an hour or two. Well, did we see the film? Oh well, as my watch turned 22.30 I got up with this nice idea to call him and say that I would be a bit late...
Thanks for tonight!
/Jonathan "Mazor" Littke - afk watching a movie :)
