Lord of the Arena announced for PAX 2015

The popular Lord of the Arena tournament series will return on August 31st with a special PAX edition.

Lord of the Arena is an arena tournament by Tempo Storm. The first two editions were the first bigger tournaments to actually feature arena competition rather than constructed gameplay and were won by Andrey "Reynad" Yanyuk and Harry "Massan" Cheong, respectively. The third edition was more of a charity event, featuring a mixture of popular arena players like Jeffrey "Trump" Shih and Bjørn "GuardsmanBob" Dons as well as famous eSports personalities like John "TotalBiscuit" Bain and Bryan "TheOddOne" Wyllie. TotalBiscuit came out victorious in the end.

Earlier today, the next edition of Lord of the Arena was announced - and it's going to be a special one as well. The tournament will be the closing event of PAX Prime 2015 and feature four decorated players: popular arena streamers Johnnie "Ratsmah" Lee and Rumay "Hafu" Wang, Tempo Storm owner and former Lord of the Arena champion Reynad as well as Magic: the Gathering legend Brian Kibler.

The four players will be randomly seeded into a single-elimination bracket. All matches are going to be best-of-fives, while every player has to draft two decks of seperate classes before each match. All games within a certain match will be blind picked without any restrictions on how often a specific deck can be played.

The prizepool will be a whopping amount of... well, there's not going to be an actual prizepool. Instead, the winner will be allowed to create a Hearthstone-related global Twitch emote. The tournament will start on Monday, 31st of August at 23:00 CEST and will be cast by Frodan and Kripparrian, so make sure to tune in.
