WC3L Playday two - things become clearer

[s]event_68[/s]

The second playday of the WarCraft 3 Championsleague (WC3L) finished with the match of two of the greatest WarCraft 3 teams - 4Kings and World Elite, two days ago. Time for another summary of the results!

Well, what has been the most unexpected for the first two playdays? It seems to be the 10th place of Four Kings - caused by two loses out of two matches. The reigning champions and most successful team the WC3L has ever seen got one of their worst beginnings since they are playing in the WC3L.
This playday, their opponent was World Elite, an opponent who once can lose to, but 4K also got the possibilities to beat them - usually. This time luck wasn't on their side and the strong Korean lineup of WE managed to win with a 3-2 score.

Grubby lost his first WC3L match - 4K it's second. What's up with the champs?

The team that ended up victorious against mousesports last playday, Praetoriani, faced wNv this time and closely lost with 3-2 this time. Prae seems to have the potential for staying in the WC3L, while wNv seems to be a candidate for ending in the top six, that's what the first playdays might show. Let's see how the season will go on for both teams, who are playing their first WC3L season.

One of the closest matches the WC3L has ever seen was maybe the one between World Elite Europe and Team NoA. Who can remember a match that ended up 3-2, with every (!) single Best-Of Three match having a score of 2-1?
Not that much probably, but WE.eu and NoA part ways with exactly this scores, in favor of NoA. The Koreans therefore are ranked fourth with two victories out of two matches, not the worst start they could have.
WE.eu on the other hand is ranked 11th with two loses, but on the one hand they could say of themselves that they were very, very close to "beat the 4K-defeater" NoA, on the other hand there will come worse opponents than WE and NoA later on.

fnatic, a favorite for a top six rank since they are playing in this league, are currently not doing that well. Two loses and rank nine for sure aren't what they are aiming for. But the season just began and atleast with MeetYourMakers they got one of the toughest opponents behind them, against whom they lost closely with 2-3 this playday.
The other lose against sCa.int wasn't very necessary, but the mostly American team did quite well for the beginning.

mousesports, last seasons offline-finalist, did not start well last playday and lost 2-3 against newcomer Prae, but now they woke up and were victorious against another newcomer - Kow3 - with a clear 5-0 score. This means Kow3 is ranked last for the moment, while mousesports climbed up the ranking to the fourth place, although they already got one lose.

Things seem to become clearer after this playday. Mousesports seems not to plan using their Chinese players for now, but is back on track nontheless, 4K has to react to fulfill their fan's (and their own?) expectations and the new teams are doing more or less well, but except wNv none of them seems to be a real candidate for the top six. Let's see what playday three will bring, enjoy the upcoming matches!
