Online Kingdom disbands

Formed as The Shit! back in December 2009 before they were picked up for sponsorship by Online Kingdom, the eponymously named team has now called it quits after nine months of playing together at the top level.

When Kim 'Drayich' Larsson came back to the DotA scene in December, he and former EnRo Griffins captain Troels 'syndereN' Nielsen formed The Shit! together with the remnants of EnRo Griffins, nfinity, and unique esports. This was the beginning of the contemporary Online Kingdom as we know it now. This proto-OK consisted of:

Germany Georg "Fire/DOLLAR" Krug
Denmark Alexander "Smiske" Troensegaard
Sweden Tim "XoYnoZnU" Lundell Johansson
Denmark Troels "syndereN" Nielsen
Sweden Kim "Drayich" Larsson
Denmark Jon "13abyKnight" Andersen

Memorably they became the first team to take an official match from Ben’s F*ck Buddies – better known then as Blight.int, the former Nirvana.int during their invincible era – by knocking the all-star team out of the first stage of Farm4Fame 2.4. The Shit! went on to defeat Tribal.int and the the Swedish DIPSARNA to reach the finals against Ducky's Dream Team, but ultimately lost 2-0 to Ducky and co.

The Shit! failed to reproduce this kind of display in subsequent F4F competitions, but were ultimately picked up by Online Kingdom and became known as OK.

Success followed, as OK went on to win Razer’s EDC tournament against the likes of MYM, AEON.ru, and DTS, before Drayich parted ways with the team to play HoN. OK continued on without him, adding German player Dominik 'Black^' Reitmeier along the way.

The team controversially became the second German team invited to play at ESWC 2010 in Paris, along with Local Area Network/Eyes On U, when they applied for invitation with Kuro 'KuroKy' Salehi Takhasomi on the roster in order to fulfill the three-player requirement to qualify as a German team.

While their roster had hardly changed since The Shit!, OK went to ESWC without Smiske, and Kuroky in place of 13abyknight, who went with MYM in place of Lacoste. OK won all three of their games in the first group stage, memorably one against LOST.eu, but failed to make it out of the second group stage and thus left the tournament with a top-8 finish.

Shortly after ESWC ended, it was announced that 13abyknight would leave OK to play with a retooled LOST.eu, and this is where he resides currently. Online Kingdom have continued to play on since his departure; they entered MYM Prime Defending with a roster remarkably well-preserved from their formation as The Shit! Unfortunately their longevity failed to reward them, as OK were knocked out by the former AEON.sg in the first stage of the playoffs in September, and most recently, they were knocked out of the Razer Global Challenge by the Swedish team youBoat.

Statement from syndereN:
"You may have noticed we have not been active recently. If my memory serves me right, we have played actually only a single practice match since our attendance at ESWC Paris this summer.

People were off doing different things, from playing different games to attending things in real life, and finally, several weeks ago, we decided that disbandment of the team was the way to go - but first off, we would finish the tournament we fired part in.

After our final loss of the Razer Global Challenge tournament, we are now leaving ONLINE KINGDOM. I would like to thank all my team members for their dedication and lung activity consistently our endeavor together, as well as for stepping up to still finish our tournaments, eventhough we had decided to split ways.

A big thanks to the organization Online Kingdom for their cooperation and dedication assisting our team in attending offline events.

A final thanks goes out the team as well as to KuroKy for our attendance at the ESWC, I learned a lot consistently in our practice sessions before the event, and had a really good time at the ESWC together with every member of the team .

What every individual or ashes of the team will be doing in the future is uncertain, but I can say that for my own part, I will be staying in the competitive DotA scene noth as a player and as a shout caster.

Good luck to all of the members as well as Online Kingdom on their quest to 'rule online gaming!'"

Since their formation almost one year ago, and prior to their disbandment, OK had kept an exceptionally consistent roster, a rather noteworthy feat as it stands in stark contrast to the ever-shifting rosters of top level of DotA as we've known it. The line-up of Online Kingdom as of their disbandment consisted of:

Germany Georg "Fire/DOLLAR" Krug
Denmark Alexander "Smiske" Troensegaard
Sweden Tim "XoYnoZnU" Lundell Johansson
Denmark Troels "syndereN" Nielsen
Germany Dominik "Black^" Reitmeier

OK have achieved the following during their time together:

2nd - Farm 4 Fame 2.4
1st - European Dota Championship Pro League
Top 8 - Electronic Sports World Cup Paris
