DotA 2 in a Perfect World

Valve announces Perfect World Co., Ltd as their exclusive partners for DotA 2 in China.

Perfect World, an established Chinese developer, is the official partner for Dota 2 in China. “We are very excited to partner with Valve in bringing Dota 2 to Chinese gamers,” said Robert Hong Xiao, Co-CEO of Perfect World.

The original DotA is still hugely popular in the region, which means this was an important decision for Valve. “We knew when we started building Dota 2 that Dota was already loved by millions of gamers in China,” said Valve’s Gabe Newell. The popularity of the previous game makes this a potentially tricky proposition for the Chinese company but Newell was in no doubt. “Perfect World was the clear choice to best bring the full Dota 2 experience to customers in China,” he said.

Perfect World is a Chinese developer that specialises in online games and has a number of popular MMORPGs. Dota 2 will be their first ARTS/MOBA game, but Xiao was sure that they can deliver. “We are confident that adding this game to our diverse portfolio will bring additional world-class entertainment to our players in China,” he said.
