PenguinQ: 'Everyone of the Addicted guys are very high-skilled'

Just recently, ADC's captain have confirmed with GosuGamers that two very famous old-school players of DotA are going to join their ranks. These two players are none other than PenguinQ and JesseQ formerly from TeamQ.

With regards to the addition of these two players to the team roster. ADC's captain, Kamikazi states that the addition of these two old school players will make them more powerful. Gathering more fans at the same time.

GosuGamers also caught up with PenguinQ for an exclusive interview regarding his career and his addition to Addicted.DotA. Check out the full interview below:

Hi PenguinQ! Please introduce yourself.

-Yoyo my name is Saman Alilo, and old-school DotA player, 1 of the few left!

A living legend, of course. So please tell us since when are you playing? In what leagues have you played in? In what clans? The list might be long though.

-It's not that long since I've been a Q and will always be a Q. As for how long I've played… I'm pretty clueless. I remember us playing inhouse games with H4nn1, LevenT and Maelk back in the days when DotA was so small, and there were no other places to play.

Talking about Q, how did you meet the guys in Q? There were a lot of roster changes over the time, why is that?

-Well the thing with Q is that we all know each other in real life, we all got together when we played Swedish championships in Starcraft and Brood War, It was a long long time ago, like 1997 or 1998, as we filled the top spots from 1st to 7th all of us Q’s have been sticking together in every game ever since. Even though we changed the roster over time there have always been a few players that never went inactive.

Next question, being a veteran player with some years in the scene (and even transcending games!), what do you think about this DotA version? What do you like and what do you dislike in it and what changes would you like to see?

-I’m not quite sure where DotA is heading at the moment with HoN being here. I do believe, though, that regardless of what games will appear, DotA will always have a huge fanbase. As for the version I'm not the type to like or dislike any aspects of the game. I just play it the way that bastard frog makes it. And going in details about what I like and don't like and what changes I would do, that would just take too much time.

So, you have moved on from the team of your life, Q, to Addicted.DotA! How have you met the Addicted.DotA guys? What is the team spirit like now?

-Well, the thing with us Q's is that no matter what team we play for or where we go we'll always stay Q's. That’s why we never remove the Q in the end of our nicks, it was the same in mouz as me and Jesse nicked Q in the end of our nicks, so one could never say that we move on from the Q clan.

Very true, the Q has always been there!

-I was approached by one of the addicted guys to join the team. As we're not playing competitively in any tours at the moment, I thought why not, let’s give it a go. As for the team spirit, I'd have to come back to you on that one, I just recently joined and I'm not really sure, but I think everyone of the addicted guys are very high-skilled and it's gonna be a challenge to play on their level, I'm looking forward to it.

What events are you preparing yourselves for? Any online/LAN events being scheduled ahead of you?

-For now we're just gonna play few games together and feel things out. Gonna take it one step at a time.

With big LAN events, such as SMM and DreamHack, what do you think about the future of DotA? Will the online events still prosper? Give us your insight on this one.

-With Asia in the picture I sincerely believe that the online events will prosper, DotA growing to such a level in Asia is exactly what the game needed, the only thing that would be a problem for the future of DotA would probably be HoN, but as I've never actually tried it even once and probably never will be "old-school" DotA, I can't really say how big of a threat it is.

So off to the fun part! Tell us your favorite drink/food/band/artist/player/hero!

-Hmm, drink: tequila. As for food I like every cuisine there is, close to anyway. My favourite DotA player ever has got to be FocusFIRE. As for hero. Hmm. I guess it depends on the mood.

So if you're emo at the moment would you go for Huskar?

-*laughs* Well, in game I don't have a lot of patience so I usually go for the action heroes. I can't sit around and farm, farm, farm. It’s too boring for me.

Well, that’s a wrap! Any final shoutouts or a message from Saman the man?

-Shoutouts goes to Broshan, the IT cafe which I spend my days in, lots of great characters there and I love them all.

ADC roster:

Greece Kamikazi (leader)
Russia Cavi
Russia CaJIaT
Sweden PenguinQ
Sweden JesseQ

With Addicted.DotA playing in the Farm4Fame qualifiers. It will be seen how well the team can perform with the addition of these two old-school players.
