WCG: Terran > Zerg 70%

wcg.jpg

StarcraftLegacy recently posted an overview of all the WCG maps including their winning percentage for each matchup. These statistics confirm what GosuGamers previously claimed: The maps for WCG 2005 must be changed!

As GosuGamers posted » a news about WCG probably not changing maps for next year, the response was immediate. We published a poll in the matter and only seven percent of our users believe that the maps are balanced. 77 percent believe that only one or two are decent and half of these, 38 percent believe they are all imbalanced.

Statistically proved

These claims are now backed up by statistics from the Grand Final and the Korean WCG preliminary. StarcraftLegacy posted their overview and in their results Terran was dominating all maps and each of their matchups! These results of course have to do with the fact that two of the Korean players and the whole top four of WCG 2004 were playing Terran, though this might be the reason why they got there in the first place.

SCLegacy decided to investigate the map win ratio of each race

The Terran winning percent versus Protoss was as high as 70%!

What's next?

GosuGamers will forward this information to the World Cyber Games to make the community's voice heard. If necessary, we will start an online petition making the community sign under for the chance and collect as many names as possible. The step after that will be to help the organization create and choose the new best maps possible and to test it with them, assuming we are given such an opportunity.

Check SCLegacy.com yourselves to see these horrible statistics, though keep in mind two things; a) lots of good Terran participated and b) statistics can easily be mixtured with.
