Lithuanian Samsung Cup

[s]event[/s]A tournament called Samsung Cup was held in
Lithuania recently. There will be no WCG Broodwar representation for this country. I guess this tournament is the nearest thing to a preliminary that they will obtain this year. I hope they have better luck next year.

WCG participation is all about finding someone willing to organize the event and then obtaining the sponsorship for your specific game. If no single individual sets his mind to do this in a country you can count on one thing for sure.

Take for example the case of Sweden, Norway and Finland – had it not been for Mazor’s stubborn refusal to see yet another year of no Swedish representation in Starcraft at WCG there would have been none for these 3 nations. So for all those Starcraft fans out there, if you want Starcraft representation for your nation in WCG 2005, start organizing it now.

Anyway, something good did come out of Lithuania’s misfortune. They had a quality tournament and offer both a replay pack and first person VOD of Anon to prove it. Lithuanian Samsung Cup
