The South East Asia qualifier playoff has finished with Mineski defeating Team Redemption in the best-of-five grand finals.
Ten teams will compete at MDL Winter for the $250,000 prize pool next month, 27-31st of January in China and Mineski is one of them after they secured the SEA qualifier spot.
Their run in the qualifiers was not perfect, dropping into the lower bracket after their first confrontation with Redemption. But they swept down First Departure to come back into the upper bracket finals and take the revenge in front of Redemption.
Found guilty in the biggest match fixing scandal of 2014, Arrow Gaming, the organization and the entire roster got banned from many tournaments, including a perma ban in Valve’s events.
At the beginning of this year the five Arrow Gaming players rebrand themselves as Team Redemption but organizers kept their decision and there were almost no tournaments for the new Redemption team to attend.
At the beginning of October 2015, Beyond the Summit decided to lift the ban and invited Team Redemption to play in their $10,000 BTS SEA Series, where Team Redemption have placed second after defeating Fnatic, MVP.HOT6, and First Departure.
