SK Gaming owner fires shots over EG and Alliance over Nyph's departure

CEO of SK Gaming Alexander T. Müller had a few choice words to say regarding Alliance's acquisition process of Nyph.

?

onGamers has recently conducted an interview with Alexander T. Müller, owner and CEO of SK Gaming, whose LoL team just recently re-qualified for the European LCS, and then right after had its support player, Patrick "Nyph" Funk, leave the team and join the newly-formed Alliance, made up of a few LCS veterans such as Froggen and Wickd from Evil Geniuses, and Tabzz from Lemondogs.

During the interview, Müller recalled on how Nyph was being approached by players and management from EG, including over Alex Garfield while he was still on SK, prior to the promotion tournament:

...when Patrick made public that he wanted to rebuild SK, lead the team into the most important match of 2013, he was approached by players and management of EG or Alliance, no one knew back then.

Waving dollars and a secure LCS contract at a player that made a clear statement and is under contract with a team during that time was one of the most disrespectful moves I have ever witnessed in eSport and we are talking 14 years here.

Müller went on to cite other incidents wherein EG was aggressive in its approach to the aforementioned support player, such as during the Battle of the Atlantic:

Alex Garfield even asked to have Patrick released for the BotA show match Alliance played. Consider this request while keeping in mind what situation SK was in. We are over it now, for sure. We dealt with it in our locker room so to speak, but I can't understand how you can act like that at all nor could other managers we talked about this situation to.

Asked for a reply, Alex Garfield gave this statement:

With regard to Nyph, everything that took place was in strict compliance with LCS regulations. I think Mr. Müller is frustrated about losing a key player, and frustration can lead to hyperbole in situations like these. I have only the utmost respect for him and his organization, so if you're looking for a war of words, you'd probably be better served by heading over to eSports Express.
