EG plagued by DDoS attacks, causing forfeits and postpones

Evil Geniuses had recently been plagued by DDoS attacks which has led to several forfeits and postpones. The Dota 2 squad seems to be collateral damage the first time, but was definitely targeted for the second.

Thousands of Twitch viewers were disappointed yesterday after what seems to be an Evil Geniuses Dream League triple header turned into a series of DDOS attack which led to the Americans forfeiting against Fnatic and postponing two matches, one against Liquid and another against Fnatic again.

This is the second time a DDOS attack has happened to the EG squad in recent days, the first being on the 12th of November. Moments after the denial of service attack, a Twitter user named DDOSQUAD tweeted at professional Starcraft 2 player Ben 'Demuslim' Baker hinting that he is the target of the attack. Assuming that is the case, the Evil Geniuses Dota 2 squad members were innocent bystanders caught in the crossfire at the worst possible time.

After the first incident, there was calm in the EG lair as everything seems to be back in order, until yesterday. Prior to their first game against Fnatic, EG team house was once again hit by a DDOS attack which caused the players to constantly disconnect and unable to log onto Steam. This time however, the DDOS attack was targeted at the Dota 2 squad itself with DDOSQUAD tweeting the following:

The postponed matches have yet to receive a schedule at the time of publish. Evil Geniuses is set to go up against Na`Vi at 20:00 CET tonight. Evil Geniuses are currently in last place in the Dream League with a record of 1-5.
