The third season of WCS America arrives at an all-Asian playoffs stage as the last western player in HuK fell last night. The quarter final pairings are to be drawn in the coming days before the round starts October 20th, 00:00 CET sharp.
As Ro16 Group D came to an end, EG's own Chris "HuK" Loranger shared the fate of SEn and compatriot Scarlett as he tasted elimination for WCS America. The Canadian Protoss did fight hard, however, and brought both of the series he played (against Apocalypse in opening set and ByuL in the losers) to three games but ultimate failed to win either of them. Former Quantic member and currently a player for IvDgaming Apocalypse followed Loranger out of WCS America as third in the group.
Thus, pool D was expectedly topped by defending America champion Polt, who was followed into the playoffs by IM's ByuL. This also makes for one very balanced bracket race-wise, which is to feature two Terrans, two Zergs and three Protoss.
