DK's 4-protect-1 strategy unsuccessful against Zenith

Zenith emerged victorious from their match against DK. The Chinese used their traditional hard carry based strategy in both games, without success. Zenith won both games grabbing their first win in G-1 Champions League Phase 3.

Game 1

DK went for a hard carry based line-up with a free farming Anti-Mage on easy lane, and an aggressive trilane bottom, while Zenith went for extra pushing power with Tinker, Keeper of the Light and Tiny.

Things did not work out for DK at start, with Dark Seer dropping two times, first to the creeps, then to Tiny, giving out first blood. Zenith continued controlling the map, with DK responding with a few gangs by Beastmaster, but the score remained in favor of Zenith with 8-2 when the game hit the 10 min mark.

BurNing's farm was almost flawless, with a 13min Hand of Midas and Battlefury. That came at a cost, with DK loosing all their T1 and T2 towers , 23 minutes into the game. DK killed the first Roshan by minute 24, but Aegis did not help at all, and just expired while Anti-Mage was farming.

Zenith, confident from their successful fights, proceeded to end the game, but met a valiant defense by DK until minute 34. A miscalculation led to an uneven fight inside DK's base, and a three-man impale by Ice won a 5-0 fight for Zenith. All barracks and the Dire Ancient went down in less than a minute.

Game 2

DK slightly altered their lineup in Game 2, with Anti-Mage still being the key, supported by 3 heavy AOE heroes and Rubick. Zenith went for a strong early mid-game line-up with strong AOE and pushing potential.

The game started with a small clash at bottom runespot, resulting in first blood being grabbed by Anti-Mage before dying to Roshan. DK was the leader of the first few minutes, until Zenith rotated bottom winning a 4-1 fight with a triple kill from YamateH.

Zenith kept the pressure going with towers being demolished fast, while Anti-Mage struggled to get his Battlefury, which he finished by minute 19. Zenith got their first Roshan 4 minutes later, using Tinker to distract DK.

The fights and trade-off for both teams as the carries farmed for the late game, iceiceice going toe-to-toe with BurNing. 32 minutes in, DK managed to kill the whole line-up of Zenith for a 5-0 fight, but Zenith answered 2 minutes later with a 4-1 exchange and a Roshan kill.

Zenith then emerged to finish the game, attempting to down bottom barracks. DK's defence was persistent, even managing to grab a couple of kills every time Zenith entered the base.

The game was decided inside the Rosh-pit, where DK, despite getting Roshan and Aegis, lost a very important clash, forcing BurNing to buyback after losing Aegis. This did not make any difference, however, as Tinker managed to lock him down and kill him once again, leading to the 'GG' call by BurNing.
