TL;DR: I'd take Beyond The Summit over Blast Pro Series any day of the week.
The laid back atmosphere allows personalities to shine through. The insight/debates/banter between casters and players made for a truly unique experience. Like at what other tournament are you going to have a player who's playing in the tournament on the casting team (shoutout to Twistzz). The games turned out to be solid, but even if they weren't I still would have enjoyed the event just for the entertainment value.
Only improvement would be going back to the previous BtS tournament format, but this format still worked well for the context of the event.
