WePlay Academy League Season 6 postponed

The postponement is due to the bombing of Ukraine by Russia.

WePlay shared a statement on social media when the date came and passed for the beginning of the sixth season of the WePlay Academy League CS:GO tournament.  The team shared that they have been hard at work to ensure the event runs smoothly – however they have to postpone the tournament because Ukraine faced a missile attack by Russia.

With sirens and explosions heard in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Dnipro, and a dozen other cities in Ukraine, the authorities have advised all residents of the country to shelter and refrain from moving around their cities. As the company is based in Kyiv, the team wants to ensure their employee’s safety.

Based on reports, some areas of the city have seen electricity supply cut off, with many wounded in the aftermath of the attack. Hence, they made the executive decision to postpone the tournament due to logistics and safety reasons.

WePlay will be sharing any tournament announcements on the WePlay website and social media – including the new dates for Season 6.
