The change is a welcome one as it finally addresses a core issue with the way damage was applied with HE grenades, where previously damage applied would be inconsistent in situations where players were on stairs or had small ledges between them and the explosion, such as on the steps in Connector on Overpass.
Additionally, Valve have deployed yet another update in order to fix the unreliability of picking up weapons when grenades are present on the ground, with previous attempts to fix the bug falling short.
