StarLadder To Host The Fifteenth CS:GO Major

StarLadder will be hosting the 15th CS:GO Major commencing this July.

The organizers have announced that the fifteenth CS:GO Major will be held in Berlin, Germany at the legendary Mercedes-Benz Arena. The venue is capable of accommodating up to 14,000 fans and tickets for the competition will be on sale as of April 2019. Keep an eye out for ticket sale announcements!

The event will be co-organized by ImbaTV who are a well-established partner of StarLadder and will be their broadcast partner for the Chinese audience.

Alexander Chegrinez the Head of Business Development at StarLadder has released the following statement regarding their company hosting the major.

Our company was founded out of an immense passion for Counter-Strike. Our very first tournaments many years ago started with CS. This game was and remains as a critical part of who we are, we grew up with it, and couldn’t be more excited. It is a great honor for us to host the 15th anniversary Major in such a stunning venue, and for such an incredible community! We will do our best to impress the fans and deliver a truly memorable Major!"

All of the stages of the tournament will be organized in Berlin; this includes Minors and the Minor Play-in. This will enable teams who have successfully qualified for the main event to avoid potential problems with entry visas and will also allow them to focus more on the preparation of the tournament instead of the other aspects of competitive gaming such as travel.

The schedule for the main stages of the StarLadder Major are as follows:

July 17th-21st – Europe & Americas Minors

July 24-28th – CIS & Asia Minors

July 29th – Minor Play-in

August 20-25th – Challengers Stage

August 27th-September 1st – Legends Stage

September 5-8th – Champions Stage

Information regarding the prize pool

The prize pool for the fifteenth CS:GO Major will remain unchanged at $1,000,000, same with regards to the four Minors which will remain at $50,000 for each region.

Further details such as information regarding the qualifiers are set to be announced at a later date.
