Denial eSports disbands after controversial loss

Denial eSports.CS has disbanded in less than 24 hours after not qualifying for the ESEA Pro League.

The CS:GO lineup for Denial eSports has dissolved, less than a day after losing 2-1 in a BO3 to Winterfox. Winterfox was the lowest ranked team in the ESEA Pro League, while Denial eSports placed at the top of the ESEA Premier League. In every past season, Winterfox would be automatically demoted to Premier, while Denial would be instantly promoted to Pro. In the middle of this past season, ESEA changed that rule so that there would be a relegation match between the bottom and Pro and the top of Premier to see who goes to which league next season.

This breakup was first announced by former player Ed "fruit" Zhu, who also announced his retirement from the competitive scene:

The organization later tweeted that the breakup was directly linked to not being a part of next season's Pro League:

While Zhu's CS career is over, the other members are still in the scene as of December 18th. Josh "shinobi" Abastado has not mentioned that he is joining a team, but he hasn't said that he is quitting either. He did mention, in response to a fan's tweet, that either Shawn "witmer" Taylor or Hunter "SicK" Mims has joined a team, also hinting that the team that either witmer or SicK will be joining is compLexity.CS, who has recently lost a member. Out of witmer and SicK, witmer has stated that he is a free agent, while SicK tweeted that he already signed with a team, likely compLexity.CS, but that was never confirmed by SicK or compLexity.

There has been no news on the former IGL for Denial, Daniel "Vice" Kim, or if Denial eSports is seeking a new CS lineup.
