MMA and HasuObs resume the war in Kiev

The afternoon of January 20th in Kiev CyberSport Arena began with the opening match in group C. After three sets of PvT, Korean terran MMA secured a successful start of his IEM run.

Not too intimidated by MMA's presence, however, HasuObs was able to score an early lead in the series, despite playing from behind for the majority of the match after a direct engagement went bad for him. Despite having a constant 20+ supply advantage, MMA never hit the necessary army composition to battle Hasu's evergrowing colossus numbers and once he could no longer defend his gold base due to lack of vikings, the Korean terran had to type out.

The equilibrium was shortly restored after the Shakuras set as HasuObs committed a bit too much to a direct attack, finding out mid-way that chargelots and archons would not be at all enough. Throwing a third nexus behind this gave MMA an even broader window of opportunity which he used to drop the protoss main, snipe his storm tech and incapacitate HasuObs for the 1-1. The series was closed on Shattered Temple with Hasu losing to a bio drop combined with a frontal hellion attack.

Next on stream is the second match of group C between IEM darkhorses Targa and Pomi.
