PP 2003 #7 and #8

This morning sclegacy released #7 and #8 of this year's pimpest replays.

Number 8 of Pimpest replays 2003 is a game between igOr[pG] and z7-devaztaYta. 16 minutes into the game igOr lands on top of his opponent's natural cliff, he uses a Ghost to keep his units safe by locking down incoming Shuttles. At 19:10 he launches a Nuke at his opponent's expansion. Immediately afterwards, he brings his ghosts to the island at 5 and attacks the Nexus and Pylon warping there. This is about 20 minutes into the game. As the ghosts are attacking the buildings he sends out his dropship to keep an eye out for incoming shuttles. He has a bit of luck and spots 3 incoming shuttles, by using his ghosts he locks down the shuttles and also manages to kill some off the dragoons that made it out before the lockdown. After wiping out the base he then takes the ghosts back to the natural expansion and launches a nuke on it. The nuke takes out nearly the entire base and gives igOr the victory. Truly a great game by igOr (aka HellGhost[pG])

Number 7 of Pimpest replays 2003 is between Yellow and Korean Gamer. A while into the game Korean Gamer has the advantage and is about to win. Yellow then makes a Defiler and uses the dark swarm from a cliff, this makes it possible for the lurkers to walk in and take out the entire attacking Terran force there. He uses this combination with Hydras mixed in to take out expansions and generally frustrate his Terran opponent. The anonymous Korean gamer does not know how to react, most likely because there really is no simple counter to this strategy. At one point in the game several cloaked Wraiths chase down a Defiler, they hit it down to 6 health when the Defiler launches a Dark Swarm above itself. The Defiler gets no damage from five Tanks, four Wraiths, and six Marines attacking it from the outside. This truly shows us the power of the Defiler and the Dark Swarm. A GREAT comeback by Yellow, proving he probably is the best Zerg player in the World right now. Note that this replay is in 1.09 so you will need this file to watch it. Simply unzip it and put it in your starcraft folder and start starcraft with that instead of your regular file.

Check in tomorrow for PP2003 #6 and #5. Credits for the picture and the selection of replays to StarcraftLegacy.com.
