Fayth Dominates WCG Canada

The best StarCraft gamers from all over Canada met this weekend at what must have been the best organized WCG Canadian Finals yet. Amongst all the players that came, one player stood out, rS.Fayth.

I entered the Olympic Spirit Center in downtown Toronto a little lost and confused. I looked around a bit for a while and finally decided that I would try getting in. Of course that failed because I needed a spectator pass first. Right away I noted something to myself, "Spectator pass?! Interesting, this seems much more professional than last years." After I got my pass, I quickly walked upstairs as I was so excited to finally see the best of the best in Canada duke it out! To, my surprise, all the games had already been played!

Pride

The first thing I saw when I reached the second floor was a group of gamers sitting in a semi circle watching a large flat screen TV with a first person view from a StarCraft gamer. Some of the people in the circle I recognized like Arikin and oG)Pride.

Paul

Now with most of the StarCraft players that were in the finals sitting and watching, who could it it be on the TV? It was oG)Paul in a ZvP battle against rS.Fayth, the winner of the Winner's Bracket at the 2005 WCG Canadian Finals. That's right folks, Fayth had beaten out Testie[pG] in the first round and even took out rS.Veg in the final round of the winner's bracket. Even with that under his belt, Fayth went on to beating Paul in 2 exhibition matches on Gaia and Paranoid Android.



Tomorrow will be the day of the final matches. The first matches to be played will be between Testie and Veg. Almost like a repeat of last years WCG Canadian Finals, except this time only ONE of them will be going to the WCG Grand Finals along with Fayth. This showdown will no doubt be exciting. The winner of the two will go on to battle Fayth one more time to proclaim themself as the best StarCraft player in Canada.

Some of you may be wondering, "If Fayth did so well, where are all the pictures of him?!" Well, you see, kind and understanding readers of GG.net. When I arrived, he was still playing with Paul (Great games to watch) and when he finished he went out to dinner. Then when he came back, I left. So you see, it was just bad timing. Here are some candids of some other WCG Canadian players!

ZergRaptor

ZergRaptor was eliminated in the loser's bracket by Testie, if he had won he would be playing Veg tomorrow for a ticket to Singapore.

Vasmos

Vasmos lost to both Veg and Testie, but was eliminated by Testie in the loser's brackets.

Update
It seems that Testie did beat Veg after all and the two champions to go to Singapore are Testie[pG] and rS.Fayth.
