sorry have to ask this but is it best to use the factory and its "workers things" that come out as more of "meat" or use them to explode on buildings and units?

Use them as meat... When they die / time out they do exactly the dmg as if you had manually ordered them to detonate!

Use the factory for the clockwork to attack ,because they are anyway explode and deal damege when their limit-time expries :-)
