It's all green and nice, economical and practical, they are really insisting on quality, but what impact capitalism makes on third world countries through these companies?

Will making a ball or shoe for less than 50 penny for a product all what is it left for third world countries? Are they only here for being a work force and being exploited?

Not trying to raise any awareness, just want for you to discuss this.

this 50cent is part of the chinese emerging economy actually.
You should know that if you study economics, which you do.

Yes you can blame the poor situation they work in, something like 14hours/day and etc...
But the government is trying to apply very strict laws on labor, problem is : they have given part of the governance to regional and communal leader to assure better "speed" inside the administration and avoid a Kafka-like bureaucracy.

Along with the emerging economy and the possibility for a few to abuse their powers, some factories and international firms tend to abuse the chine workers.

Still, even tho the #1 & #2 seemed somehow retard with their comments, they show how we are part of that treatment toward the chinese workforce.

it's just because those places still allow it, and those people can't get anything better, they could try to stand up for their right to get paid more, but there are always people who actually will do it for this low fee, and hence that's where the company would move next.
Yes, they abuse those who do it for less, but those decided to do it, because over there, it's alot more than it's here, also.

Very good statements, but I did not talk about chinese workers (yes they do get abused) since they are not in Third, but in Second world. Still, their right are abused to extent that they are not permitted to fall in love in some other country and so on. But just cause of those workers and even more reasons, China is growing constantly and will surely become one of most powerful countries in the world (economically), it is just a matter of time. That kind of system which they do have here is really innovative, communism with some kind of market freedom, but I am also hoping for a revolution maybe there since any normal man would not live in such scary environment.

Africa with every day has less chances to get out of crisis in which it is due to that still some, if not most of them are still unofficial colonies by European countries (exploiting raw materials, giving those big producers some small prices etc.)

Also, that also is true, to avoid some kind of slow administration that is slowing in many ex-communism countries states growth, but goverments don't even need to give them the power. Companies like Nike already has the power in money. There are great possibilities that some of them are even sponsoring some political people in their election, and when they do that, they often change laws in their favor.

Of course, economy like that is very vulnerable and manipulative, since many people seems to think that this crisis is artificially made (that is for me kinda only logical explanation). Capitalism needs really big changes because it lacks on moral standings, where it's all about the profit.

Japan is a very good example, but of course that is very different culture with big moral awareness. There are many cases where CEO-s made "harakiri" because they could not pay out money to their workers. Philosophy used there over expenses, morality and creativity is very successful and in my opinion japan's model of modern company is more better that USA's one, because it concentrates on it's workers before anything else.

Not clear what you want with this topic.

Is it bad that we abuse third world countries? Sure, but they would be pretty much as far behind without our interference, maybe even further behind. I think in time most countries will catch up in education and institutional infrastructure but I don't think that can't be hurried too much artificially.

Is capitalism bad? Like everything else it has pro's and con's, but it has proven as a more succesful model then a government ran economy and as of now it is the most efficient way we have of running things.

As you probably know a resource-based economy is probably the way to go longterm for humanity but I don't see that happening any time soon since the people with the power to instigate such change does not have any motivation to do so.

I agree with you, but still, what would we be without them? Less raw materials, expensive workforce, laws in EU are surely tougher then in some Africa country...

Communism did not really had a chance (not a fan of it since history showed its results), but people like Stalin who had that system....it was doomed to fail since Stalin was just a dreamer. Marx actually thought a very good system in theory, but in reality it was really a fail due to people that were forcing it.

Proven? Maybe, but you should also consider the fact that most of the experts are saying that capitalism is very bad system, but its actually the best system humans came up with. Differences between big and poor are big and there is a pattern noticed where crisis has to happen in like every 10 years. Some day those differences will really break loose, like mall with no security and people will be fighting over resources, but over much bigger scale, it is just a matter of time.

fact is, moral and capitalism are intuitively opposed.
As achilles1989 stated, since it is based on the individual, his right, and his reason
he has to do anything that will compel with his own goals, lowering the importance of others behalf and well being.

Big firms work this way: if you take them as unique entities ,some sort of "individual", they will act by reason, abusing their rights, and planning along with theirs very own objectives.

Now if we get back on the African and Third world countries,
Most of the Abuse are coming from WESTERN economies.
As you said, Chinese is growing and is going to become the 1st economic and with it diplomatic power in a couple of decade.

BASIC ( brasil south africa india china ) are all of them taking market share ( or should i say continental share ) in Africa, lowering the effect of Western-abusing firms.
These countries know what Africa is going through and China for example is really gathering its own interest with Africa's interest, as they are a lot more subtle and smart than western economies when it comes to colonize and abuse African workforce, aiming a long term partnership with massive direct investment in housing, industries and such one.
But please highlight the fact it is still in Chinese interest to do so.
There are a lot of book on this topic "ChinAfrica" that are worth a read.

Also note that nowadays, South Countries are forming ( actually since quite a long time ) a group which purpose is to oppose North/West hegemony, moved by some pathologic hatred due to History ( Look for Jean Ziegler's book "La haine de l'occident" : The hate of West " )
It was never a success until the coming of the BRIC on the international scene.
With the relative weight and power shifting from North to South we might as well soon see a change in the Global economy, the ranking, but the system too.

Moreover, investing companies are now going on a new acronym and market : CIVET: Colombia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Egypt and Turkey
which is to be the next "BRIC" and thus more and more countries are going out of poverty, slowly yes, but surely because they can NOW use the capitalism at their advantage, though in order to do so they had to be exploited at some points.

Western hegemony is really coming to an end and abuse will lower i'm pretty sure of that, but there will always be abuse.

But please keep in mind that the best way to counter a system as well working as capitalism is definitely not to go against but with it and use it to its very own depend
