Just another war3 "balance" thread :). (8000 reads, 70 replies, 2 years ago)
So I have just seen a Warcraft III race statistics on http://www.sk-gaming.com/wc3/
And i wondered about that the ORC race isn't the imbalanced one but the UD is the imbalanced race.
So the statistics:
Undead
Undead vs Night Elf 54% win
Undead vs Human 53% win
Undead vs Orc 40% win
vs none race the % are between 49% and 51% (and that's just pure 50% with a little +/-)
Orc
Orc vs Undead 60% win
Orc vs Night Elf 51% win
Orc vs Human 49%win
Only vs UD isnt Orc balanced as the statistics show
Human
Human vs Orc 51% win
Human vs Night Elf 49% win
Human vs Undead 47% win
Only vs UD isnt Hu balanced as the statistics show
Night Elf
Night Elf vs Human 51% win
Night Elf vs Orc 49% win
Night Elf vs Undead 46% win
Only vs UD isnt Ne balanced as the statistics show

I know that for most of you this statistics isn't anything new and I also don't know how new or old are the updates.
But what do you think about that only the UD race isn't balanced? (hasn't from 49% to 51% vs each race what is equal to 50%)
Sorry for my bad english or for that you didn't understand something from that what i wrote. but i guess you understend my point - UD is the only imbalanced race.

the only 'really' imbalanced match is ud vs orc and has been for a long time now..

#6, his point is that the imbalance is not caused by the orc, but the ud -_-

Still I like to know why every "noob" orc claims that NE>>Orc, when the win/lose ratio between the two races are 51% in favour of the orc.

according to the statistics, the ud are not that bad...

But well, in my opinion these statistics mean nothing anyway. But I understand the point now.

The only thing that matter is that the Match Up Orc vs UD is imbalanced

statistics does mean a lot.

#10, if UD vs Orc match up gets balanced. Then UD will be the most imba race. Cause UD> NE/HU and UD=ORC. If they remove the race UD, then the problem in the imbalance is solved. But that will never happen.

UD players should just stop complaining about how they can't win a matchup vs Orc, cause the matchup vs Hu/Ne compensate the vs Orc matchup.

Think about it, UD has 2 matchup where he has the advantage (hu/ne), so those adantages makes up for their weaknes towards orcs.

We know undead isn't that bad, but seriously ud vs orc is kinda imbalanced. Even statistics shows that.

lol this is kinda hard to make the game perfect balanced becouse:
1. if they improve the UD race so that they are same strong as ORC's are then UD woud be the strongest race of all.
2. if they make the ORC race so weak that they are balanced vs UD then the ORC race woud be the weakest of all.

to make the game balanced there is a HUGE work needed. well i dont know how coud they make war3 balanced. imo it's even impossible.

they could do it like this. Undead units have x% increased damage against anything that is green

Only got 1 thing to say: wc3 contains what's called "unique" races, meaning their all different of each others, with unique races u can never have 100% balance, if u want 100% balance play chess or some shit

#15 starcraft has 3 very different races and thats nearly 100% balanced. Blizzard is just too busy with their more successful and upcoming games to be honest.

Yes changing UD would cause Blizzard to change all the races but i'm sure something small like frost towers having true sight but costing a little more could work.

what most people don't seem to see, that statistics aren't only made by the races, but also by the players.
If the best player is a NE player, and his best mu is NEvsOrc, and he wins 100% of the counted matches in that mu, and playes accurate in the others, it might pull over the statistics, just a tiny bit, but enough over time, that people say the NE>Orc .. it's the players and their strats combined with their skill who mainly make these statistics.
Maybe UD just hasn't got the perfect counter-strat yet?
In SC it was Protoss>Zerg for some time, when there was the Bisu build, just out. Now every1 knows how to counter it, and it's no longer P>Z, as many people cried before.
Also WC3 should seriously consider taking in some new maps, that are things that help the game evolve ALOT.
WC3 has what? 10maps or something that are mainly played? SC has more than 150 maps that most people know, and that makes a huge difference, imo.
Maybe the maps are imbalanced, not the game?
