Please help with Undead vs.. Anything XD (6782 reads, 14 replies, 2 years ago)
Hi guys. I have recently started playing ladder matches on Warcraft 3 again, and I would like some help with Undead builds and unit combinations. I have watched quite a few replays, but I'm still not really sure what to do in a lot of situations.

So, what unit combinations should I go for in each match up?

P.S. Any general advice on playing Warcraft would be welcome, since I am a Starcraft player and they're quite different =/

just download 80 UD-pro replays (20 replays vs each race). and you will surerly know the basic BO vs each race and each situation.
And when you watch the replays then you must think "why is he doing that and building that?" all the time. just by watching and learing BOs is hard to learn. you must understand why he is doing such things.

yeah i know this is offtopic becouse the question was "what unit combinations should I go for in each match up?" but that was the only thing i can say :D

Thanks :D. One of the problems with me watching replays is that half the replays require certain maps to be in certain folders, and even though they're there for sure the game can't seem to recognize it (but the minimap will still show). That's why I don't watch so many replays.

#3 no idea what you're talking about, never had that problem.

But go to NGL-one.com for example get their latest maps and just watch alot of replays from there for example to get you started. Shouldn't be a problem.

Dudes, straight away i see your all n00bs.. Watching replays and listening to auidos all the time is nothing really.. You have to be playing the game to get better and better, but some people are born pro gamer's... Some are just wanna be geek's.. So i suggest u just mass play and get use tot he best BO you can use for either (Rush,Tech,Harras,TR,Fast exsp) and so on .. But always have a good macro by putting main building at front of base and ziggy placed behind them ... always upgrade all towers against humans and have them proteching all of ya base.. like have about 2 cold towers.. and about 5-6 Spirit towers around ya base.. Make sure they proteched by such building as Atlar,Slaughter House,Crypt,Graveyard,Shop ect..

Just some VERY common strategies:

Against Night Elf:
You can always try to (the good old standard) Fiends / Aboms / Statues / Destros (/ Wagons), but the new trend is more like fast tech towards Gargoyles.

Against Orc(nowadays considerd, the imbalanced):
The usual thing is going mass fiends + Frost Armor Lich, with eventually some destro's. However, that is rarely going to make you win so i would advise:
- Or "fast" teching towards Wyrms
- Doing the "TeD-Push", with sacrificial skull and an acolyte to create towers near his base after the Lich (second hero) comes out.

Against Human:
The Human's trend is to make a Fast Expo, with other words, you can try two things:
- Harass him so much that you prevent him from expoing (rarely works)
- Harass him and fast tech. Won't prevent human from expoing, but you can fast tech towards Destroyer's/Wagons to destroy his expo.
- Creep level your hero(es), then rape his expo with again Destroyers or Wagons.

Against Undead
Believe me, there are a LOT of strategies when playing UD vs UD (it's considered the most interesting mirror) but basicly there are two strategies:
DK + Lich + Fiends + Statues + Aboms
Or
Dk/DL + Lich + DL/DK/DR + Ghouls + Gargoyles + Statues

General tips:
-Use Rod of Necromancy to creep
-Always buy a Orb of Corruption
-Always summon Statues
