8 grunts are not easy tou counter.the key is to make him back up:try to hero focus and not to take too much damage at the same time.and scout him as soon and as often as you can,cuz to make 8 grunts at that time of the game he needs a dual barracks, when you see a second barrack, expect a grunt push or a gruntapult, so tower up and get your DH as high leveled as you can.pick Bm as second hero and mass dryads. you can also harass his base and take down the burrows, that will slow him down until u get enough dryads to counter him. it's all about the micro dude

if you see mass grunts, go mass huntress, there's no easier way imo:) and, just like NieSwiety said, micro is extremely important

Go mass hunts and warden/DH and get Kotg for 2nd hero.
That should do the trick.

Also, don't forget to micro.

generally just mana burn / focus fire the bm, try kill off the grunt if you feel you have enough mana in the wells to survive the blademaster. you should nearly be at level 2(or maybe level 2 already) by the time he gets to you anyway if you've AOW creeped, so when he runs back to heal you can either finish creeping to level 2 or maybe pickup boots / dust from the shop. if he comes straight back to harass you again with more grunts just focus the bm and make him run again, ignore the grunts. make sure you have 4 moon wells up by the time he comes back the 2nd time round so you can heal easily.
