Help against mass grunts vs NE (8280 reads, 28 replies, 3 years ago)
My friend and I play friendly matches once in a while and I keep losing when he does his tier 2 push with a blademaster, like 8 grunts, and his shadowhunter hero... I was wondering what ne units would be able to cut down the grunt numbers.

He comes like right as I get my 2nd set of dryads so I don't think I would have cyclone by that time...

you don't need cyclone to fend him off, wall your base off so he can't enter (wisp repair wells from inside your base if he tries taking any out) and pick off his grunts one by one with talons. use moon wells to save your heroes and if things get really bad buy health pots for them. pick up orb at tier 3 and possibly a 3rd hero

just micro those dryads and keep pumping them and you should be fine a KoTG or BM as second hero helps as well. DoTTs work as well. Most of the problem seems to be in your micro and/or basebuild.

You need to micro. With good micro you can win even with archers. Without it, even pack of talons cannot help. Practice more.

plan ure base better, put ure ancients in an offensiv positon, make rooms for moonwells behind them so ure units and moonwells can fit behind the ancients.

most ppl when they start playing wc3 especially starcraft players they tend to build their base REALLY tight, this is actually not good with nightelf since its easy to harass and ure units will get stuck outside ure anciets ^^ if u know what i mean

AMYWAY his melee units wont be able to kill both ure talons and ure ancients with that kind of push.. i think its just a question of building placements

There was once a boy who pwned me in warcraft with NE.

his base was like OMG! ARH!!
i lost the screenshot but i still remember how did he build his base.

tree altar

tower AOL AOW
ARCHERS and PRIESTESS
moonwells...................
moonwellsssss...............<only
entrance>

After pwning me in 1v1, we teamed up and hosted a 2v2 game.

The opponents took 30 minutes and still cant break through his base. Finally, they call out for a GG.
