Q: Advanced Replay Loaders for WC3 ? (279 reads, 2 replies)
My question is the following: Is there any program which cirumvents the ugly sides of watching warcraft3 replays (like map has to be in correct folder, which can be a pain in the ass if game host chose to use something with special characters; correct patch must be installed to watch)?

the solution to the above mentioned problems would be :

o a program which reads the map path the .w3g needs loks for a map
with same name within your map folders and EITHER makes wc3 use
that map instead without complaining OR IF NOT MANAGEABLE just
copies the map to the map path the replay needs AND THEN launches
wc3

o a program which reads the version the .w3g needs and automatically
selects the correct .exe to start the game in the right version(Q: does
wc3 only need latest .mpqs and correct .exe to run or does it need the
patches .exe AND .mpqs??)

I know that some programs handle the second point quite well (at least they tell you the verion needed to watch replay before loading wc3, BUT is there anything out there which handles the first point? (you could think of Starcrafts [ReXplorer/Old executables] for WC3...also would make loading DOTA reps much easier....)

I dont think there's such a program, if there was id probably have it and my map folder wont have multiple copies of one map which makes it over a half gig.
for no.2 i just a version switcher. anyway the replays people would most likely watch is for 1.22 if not 1.21. so i just switch back 1 version down.

I thought i read something about this on bnet forums i think you need to search google for the chinese program replayking or something even though im not sure about that.
