Just wait for those w3 *$(#&)#(*^$*(# to start their stupid arguments about deep strategy o.O When w3 is incomparable to sc with that o.O


W3 IS more popular I think ...

but ONLY because of graphics and its UMS maps ( Which are great btw , Dota etc )

I played w3 for 2 months but when I got used to heroes , amazing graphics I couldn`t continue cuz SC was totally better and harder game oO

When it comes to competition it lacks, its slower than sc , its easier than sc, it requires less knowledge / speed / thinking / multitask / practice


Its understandable that w3 fans will flame the shit out of this post cuz everyone wants their game to be harder / better / requiring more skill / more popular etc but in fact SC is harder ...

There is no way u can compare w3 macro/micro to sc

Macro in w3 is plain easy for any sc player , whats the problem in counting 8 - 15 workers with 1-2 expo ? When in sc u have to control multiple expos ( 3-5 almost every game ) , with correct number (
From 4 to 80 workers almost every game ) of workers
( and correct workers add timings ,correct saturation of workers , correct defend of workers ) ....

Another thing is your macro buildings , you have to make like, ie 10-30 gateways to keep macro in most games , this requires multitasks never seen in w3 ...

Micro is way slower and easier than in sc , I know there are gosu hero control etc but how can u compare this to microing dropships in one place , fighting 200/200 vs 200/200 armies another place , defending harras another place ...... ; o ?

One false move / miss can make the game here and its way harder to not make false moves in sc

Game action in w3 is slow and very similar each game , there are way less cheeze than in starcraft and there is way more luck included

These are all only a few reasons why w3 isn`t anywhere near starcraft, as a competetive game

OK ... HEREOES are cool but they will never make up for all these things

There is rly no reason to argue about that , even facts reaveal the truth ... it isn`t anything random that it is SC and not W3, the most popular comptetive game , with the most money, biggest interest , coverage and the widest progaming scene in the world

maybe beacuse u prefer SC? amount of skill =/= how cool and nice game is

I dont know what im talking about ? So you're saying there are more wc3 players on gg.net then sc gamers? You thing you got some higher knowledge because you were playing wc3? Well i still AM playing wc3 and i know for a fact that europe server has way more active channels compared to sc. Europe sc is basicly dead. Public gaming is more or less extinct. The only way to get some good games on sc nowdays is on iccup or inhouse games.

Unfortunately, outside of korea, SC:BW is like 10 years old... and they'll think "oh the game is so outdated that it's nothing compared to like Red Alert 3 or Command and Conquer 3!" Which I believe is not true because SC>C&C I may be wrong but that's sometimes the mindset people have.

I think many people don't play SC outside of Korea because they think the 2-D graphics embarrass them in situations such as when talking to friends:

"What game do you play?"
"I play Starcraft."
"Lol Starcraft. You mean the game I played in kindergarten with shitty 2-D graphics."

Interestingly, WC3 is not that young anymore (came out in 2002, making it 6 years old this year) but the 3-D graphics and colorfulness of the game make it seem kind of new.

Plus, when SC came out it was a mega hit, so lots of people played it back then. Now they'd easily recall playing the game at an young age, giving them the idea of SC being ancient.
