Actually WC3 is popular mainly in China. In Europe it is more popular than SC but that's just a relative comparison, which means nothing in the face CS's popularity.

So Korea=SC
China=WC3
Europe/North America=CS

Actually the reason why Koreans dominate BW is because they're the most hardcore players on planet. No other game features massively broadcast leagues and high salaries like it.

Koreans are the only ones who lock their players up in a training house to play for around 13 hours a day. For WC3 and CS players, this isn't mandatory although a few do reach the same intensity level in their practice like Sky or Moon.

In terms of number, WC3 is perhaps the more popular considering the huge Chinese population compared to Korea's. In term of professionalism though, SC exceeds all other games as its players enjoy fame and wealth nearly unmatched by anyone else.

I like both games so it's good to see each of the two at the highest popularities by different definition.

In Bulgaria CS and DOTA dominate for sure :)
Once i wathced Korean warcraft3 professional match and there they show theyr ranking there were 2 koreans out of 10 players Due to total domination of Koreans in starcraft i think starcraft is much more popular in korea than other world .I know a lot of korean SC gamers,but i know only one korean WC3 player O_o this is Moon i know about 10 WC3 foreign players . Bulgarian guy beat Korean in WCG final and take gold to bulgaria years ago this just show koreans sux in WC3 kekekekkekeekeke

The thing no one mentioned (?) is the fact that sc:bw pro players earn so much more because of korean clan guilds, more interest and money invested in their proleagues and stuff. Moon's income from all over the year matches the amount of prize for like 1-2 titles won in sc:bw proleagues. That's also one of the differences.

So much idiots are here, sc way more popural then any other game (not only in korea but in entire world) just look fact on ggnet site when there is show mach or smthing it's like 20 games of sc vs 1 game of wc3. If u dont beleave look amount of bet's after sezon. It's clearly that sc dominate more then any other game, noobs that say diferent dont really know how strong is sc comunity outside korea

Maybe there's no wc3 bets because no one submits them? Its like going to wc3 site and claiming SC is not popular because there's no sc players there.

I still think sc is more popular outside of korea...

this may not be a better proof than amount of wc3 / sc stuff here on gg.net (#33) but how come whenever there's a polling comptition for awards for best gamers, etc, sc community just pwns every other game EZZZ i mean EZZZ SON

also, i live in usa and here ppl mostly play console games

Well, I think the reason that best player awards etc goes out to StarCraft players is because they're the most hardcore. I'm not disagreeing that the SC community > WC3 community when it comes to hardcoreness, and I think that pro SC players are better at their game than pro WC3 players are at theirs.

But this doesn't say anything about popularity though
