Reduce delay on bnet lader? (1350 reads, 36 replies)
Someone might have already ask this question but ----:

Is there a way to reduce bnet delay in ladder. My loggin ping is 63 so im like thats good, when i go play sime battlenet ladder i have delay not bad delay like 0.5 - 1 sec this may sound little but it does make a huge differnce, so i snooped around and ask sum players hat battlenet ping is 250ms so no matter if ur ping is 20 or 10 playing bnet will draw it up to 250 ms T_T.

So then i cancel all my downloads all my programme running and got it to 47, i felt proud of myself until i played bnet game still smae delay =)

so im here asking is there a programme to help me play 'LADDER' not Custom games as i already have the progarmme VCK, LC etc ^^.

People made a progamme to reduce delay in CG so there must be one for lader or so.

plz help =)

Ty in advance

Try with Fasterping program. Should decrease latency... works with WoW but it should work with every online game.

u cant play in bnet with 50ms delay. i have ping 15-16ms. delay = ~~200-300ms.....so with ping 200 its probably 0,5sec delay.

i repeat: u cant play with 50ms delay or smaller for some reasons i dont know since im not a total nerd :>

With Bnet it goes like this:

player 1> bnet server > player 2, really no idea how it works, but it's not direct connection so there's extra delay because of the server

For the connection part: it's actually quite simple, bnet server asks and sends commands to the players every clocktick (we/ how long this may be) so for the convenience and stability of the connection and other things involved, they just use a fixed timing to send/receive data from server to client.

However, if you have Dota Client, you can set the latency you want/need for the appropriate level of gaming and if my memory doens't suck, there is a latency with (b.net) next to it.. so then you know how much ms bnet actually forces on your connection. It's obvious when someone's connection (or computer for that matter) isn't able to send it's data within that timeframe... people tend to lag ;)

you're right
its because war3 add +250ms when you play on ladder, to avoid packet loss, desync client/server, and other networking problem.
basicly your ping is login ping + 250 ms.
there is NO way to remove that +250ms on ladder.
In custom games, the host can use a program called w3dr (war3 delay reducer, that works well!)

Looks like nobody search little bit about the program i propose. Why u lag???

quoting:

Faster Ping program:

Reduces your latency / gives better ping times in World of Warcraft (and other Multiplayer Games) by optimizing network registry settings (Windows default setting are intentionally causing delays on small packets and ACKs).

Faster Ping optimizes network registry settings in order to turn off ACK delays and small packet delays. Windows intentionally delays small packets and waits until more data can be sent, which is a good idea for non-realtime applications. But in Multiplayer and MMO games the focus is on sending all packets (like move_left, cast_spell, ...) immediately to the server, even if they are only 1 byte in size. Faster Ping turns off these network delays which improves latency and ping times significantly. You must have Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 installed (XP with Service Pack and Vista already have it) to run this application.

And for lazy ppl here is link for download:
http://www.curse.com/downloads/details/10599/

I tested on WoW works great.
