How to deal with destroyers? (1113 reads, 24 replies)
I've been playing for about 3 months human now<first 2 months Undead>. I'm getting a little bit better but I'm always loosing to Undead if he builds destroyers .... :( .... Specially in a late game when the heroes are 5/6 level it seems impossible to kill them because he takes out all my riflemen etc. .. I've been building riflemen and flying machine but it looks like they can't deal with them .. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Mass Siege Engines (tanks). Crypt Fiends will web down your air units anyways so stick to ground. Without the Orb of Annihilation, Destroyers can't dent the tanks so easily, plus you need them anyways to fully abuse the HU imbaness.

u say flying machines doesn't work.... They do but u need mass like 20-30 depending on how many dessis he have.. dragonhawks rape them too

Pros use to counter them with mass gyros, so why dont you try that? Those are cheap 1food units so you can have shitloads of them and how many fiends he is going to have? 4? 5? Prolly not enough to stop those gyros.

#7 Well if you have all the flying machines in the same place, they certiainly do, but then again, i haven't really seen ANY pros stopping to make gyros after enemy's panda was at a high lvl. Just a micro thing i guess.

well in most cases ud doesn't go panda and when he does it's as a 3rd hero.. So u got plenty oft time

eh, human vs undead matchup in a nutshell:
Get a hero, either AM MK or Pala depending on map and preference.
Creep it 2 lvl 2 expect harass if AM or Pala, take 5 militia with you to an expansion and creep it, u should be 2 1/2 and in a good case even 3, make sure u know wether he's going gargs or destroyers, if he's going destroyers keep making towers till u got about 10+ per base if not get only 6-7 per base.
Basically keep making expansions and counter whatever units he's making, versus mass destroyers get either Dhawks (very good with MK first for some reason i never understood) or gyros.

Orr u could just mass even more towers and expansions and get tanks and just run over his base with tanks while ur 2 heroes and some footies rape his expansion.

EDIT: Jamie pandas BoF only hits 12 targets so basically if u have 20-30 gyros which is very well doable with enuf expansions only around 8 will be hit if u keep ur gyros close to ur army so its not that big of a deal.

Since the alternatives are generally Gyros or Hawks, Hawks also gets raped by panda with the added benefit of also getting raped by nova. So my pick is def Gyros espacially since their damage in numbers are crazy with flak uppgrade.

Also, panda can't use drunken haze on gyros

However, mass hawks are good at tier 2
(low lich/panda level and gyros can't attack ground at that stage)

Or you can play it like sonkie some time ago - 2 expos with some towers and spell breakers with gryphons. (+classic tri hero) UD cant kill those breakers, and you kill everything but the destros, basicaly this will end up with your breakers and heroes destroying undead's base, while UD can't kill those breakers and your base cos of towers there : ) Sonkie was plaing it to 100/100 upgrade, its also very good vs wyrms :) There are some replays on WCR but they are all 1.21 : (

tip: always have prepared 2 workshops with flak canon rdy : )

I guess its a matter of skills... When i wasnt so good, i had no trouble countering my opponent with dessis. But i got better, and so did my opponents, and now its practically impossible to win with dessis. Just remember u must not take up a fight if the dessis got mana. Then nuke hes Panda, and try to keep flying machines away from the panda. But dont mass flying machines, u must have 3-4 knights, or the UD can win without the dessis.

If he attacks your base with mana dessis, u must let him kill your workers, since its better to lose that than the flying machines. Just dont lose the main, then it will work. Remember that when he have drained mana from statues and is attacking, it will take a while before he gets statues enough to get mana on his dessis again. Try to make him follow your flying machines around the map, since the dessis will lose mana over time.

Just try to make sure he doesnt get a major hero advantage (u must use your flying machines to stop his creeping, and do as much creeping as u can. If u get equal heroes, and a nice number of flying machines, winning against mass dessis should be quite easy

If u follow and understand this guide, u will have no trouble against mass dessis again,

dont make hawks, dont make tanks, dont make rifle. Just mass gyro, its the best way without a doubt. its easiest, most effective and doesnt require any micro.

Note: make atleast 12-30 gyro depending how many destro
