UD General Help (410 reads, 6 replies)
Hi, I'm trying out WC3 for the first time, I figured that Undead suits my playing style very well, but I'm not sure about how to use them everything so I need help (a lot of help).
Build orders, unit/hero combos, tips for each matchup, and recommended reps would be helpful!
Thanks.

For buildorders watch some pro-replays, there you will also find strats. You learn alot just from watching replays so i would say that you should start with that. :P

To get you started I can explain the fiend build to you, because fiends are viable to basically every race in WC3 (Not so much against elf, since ghouls/gargs and garg harass work much better against those nocturnal biatches )

Send 2 acolytes to gold, the ghoul to lumber, then build a crypt and a graveyard with your remaining idle acolyte.

Set rallypoint on the gold mine with your Necropolis and build 2 acolytes.

Build an Altar of Darkness when gold allows you to.

Build a Zigurrat when gold allows you to.

Build a ghoul from your Crypt and send it to mine lumber, then build a fiend.

When your Altar is about 90-95% finished, build a Tomb of Relics.

Train a Death Knight from your Altar.

Build a Zigurrat when gold allows you to.

Build another fiend.

When your Death Knights ressurect, buy Rod of Necromancy (and Dust of Appearance if you're facing a Blademaster or a Night Elf opponent, since Night Elves can use the 'Hide' ability at night, rendering them invisible)

Build another fiend.

Tech when gold and lumber allows you to, after you've qued the third fiend.

Then basically that's how you start a fiend build :) After that just continue producing fiends, maybe get a Lich at Tier 2, and build your Slaughterhouses and go forward to those nice UD Tier 3 units (Destroyers, Abominations, Wyrms, whatever you need)

Watch a couple of audios, that is replays with a media playing file. U are supposed to run the replay in 1x speed, while listening to the audio, where he will explain what the players are doing...

OFC us better players know that 50% of what they say is bullshit, but its a good start, to get some basis insight in the game...

LOL...50% is bullshit....LOL....I would say lik 75%...I recommend....download a bunch of replays from Happy, Lucifer, FoV, Susiria or Xlord. These are pro playeres, some new rising starts, others are WC3 "Legends"...but all of them creative and really good...leave the AUDIO away...not that useful....gl pal and welcome to a great game!

download a replay of a pro player, watch it a few times, try the strat, see how well u do, then try it again. If your new you can just try to get the build right aganst the computer, to make sure everythign is timed perfectly and ur basemanagment is good, once u get that stuff down i would start playing other ppl. For micro there is a micro training map on this forum, the Topic was Human Micro map or somthing like that, read threw it and it should have a UD micro map to. GL and HF.
