Control Groups (HU) (713 reads, 15 replies)
just wondering what u guys put in your control groups. such as (example:) MK/footies Control 1
AM/Casters Control 2
Mortar men Control 3
Barracks (or any unit producing building) Control 4
Altar Control 5
Town Hall Control 6

so ya, u get my point, just wondering what some of you HU players use for your control groups, or maybe if anyone knows some from any pros.

thanks in advance.

i dont get the point bout grouping the army into different groups, especially in early game. i am playing ud, but if i would group

dk skeletons = 1 (melee)
fiends = 2

i would get exhausted with microing around the units. so i simply put them in 1/2 (melee / statues go on group 3)

early -
1 - first hero
2 - footies/rifle

mid -
1 - first hero
2 - second hero
3 - footies/rifle/breaker
4 - air/mortar

late -
1 - first hero
2 - second hero/footies/rifles/knights/breaker
3 - third hero/casters
4 - air/mortar

early is obviously tier 1, mid is if I'm tier 2 but I don't have casters yet or am not going them, late is for when I have a lot of units, but if I'm not getting casters then the air/mortar goes into group 3

that's just a rough idea... overall my groups change throughout the game, it's impossible to keep certain set control groups, 2 3 and 4 can be pretty much anything during the early and mid stages, just depends on how my units are split up and what I'm doing at that stage in the game

my buildings are

5- unit production
6 - altar/upgrade buildings
7 -0 mains

I see no point of having hero alone in one group tbh. Don't you have F1 F2 for it?
I could be wrong tho, but I use F's for heroes :)

Agreed, I don't use ctrl-groups for heroes either.

Realistically yes, but it's a lot easier for me to hit 1234 to move units and so on than it is to use f1123, I use the f keys during fights a fair amount though for my 2nd and 3rd hero.

I originally didn't group any of my heroes, but it was just too painful moving my army around like that, so after a year or two I switched to this method. It's a lot less stressful, especially because I seem to have a lot of problems with my wrists, anyone have any suggestions for that BTW?

Medicaments ? Gelatine or something that.. Got same problem but cause i am guitarist also so my wrist produce sounds like clockwork :D however , when it hurts stop playin. For me helps put hand in water , not too cold either hot .. something below body temperature .. i think your problem lies in overheating your wrist .. gelatine or some product helping keeps your wrist liqified enough should help. OR problem can lie also in that your muscle in wrist is stronger than you knuckle so your muscle can sustain faster, stronger movements but your knuckle can't therefore it hurts.. this is the better alternative cause u just need to cool down your wrist and relax a while and control your force/speed wich isn't easy (especialy in solo game in micro intense battle :D) but u have nothing to worry about... How you recognize what's your problem i can't tell .. doctor can tell you (as he tells me i have 1st problem)..

Thanks a bunch #12, I went a bit ago and it's carpal tunnel and he gave me a brace and what not, but mostly taking a 15 min break every 5 games or so works well. I'll have to look into your gelatine suggestion though.
