Whats wrong about mass? (1819 reads, 30 replies)
...except, that seemingly only low skilled players do it. But what alternative do they have?

Pro elf players mass dryad and I wouldn't say they're low skilled.

lol, there is absolutely nothing wrong about mass. Basicly easiest thing to counter. Id say: only noobs complain about mass.

Well every elf masses. Huntresses/Dryads/Talons/Bears... you name it! But the real thing is that people use it because it works. If mass raider was good, orcs would use it, if mass footman was good, humans would make it. There is really no problem about it since mixing units isn't synonymous of skill. :)

Ok, i understand.
Today someone complained that upgrading my zigurrats to towers is "mass gay towering" and going with 12 fiends after his expansion, while he had only six, was "stupid mass noob" - of course he lost.

normally only the ppl who dont know what to do or dont have the right counter for ur mass start complaining about it. Never seen any ''pro'' complain about his enemy massing :O

i smile everytime i am 'mass noob' or 'so noobish rush' while i pwn his acolytes while he is in middle of teching his main :D however , nothing wrong on massing.if i saw that (skill = I SAW THAT) i make counterunits mass or something that will counter ur mass
... just one thing that sux is 6 foots with mk + stun ... realy badass thing ... u must be constantly in motion and from the range of mk ...

it depends what they're massing.
you basically need to know the weapon - armor type advantages and pick the units with the appropriate weapon type. that is of course assuming they ONLY have one unit.
then again, if it's mass talons, you're messed. not really any counter to that for orcs

spirit walkers can definitely help vs. talons, but they would have so many talons that your important units (heros mainly) would be perma-cycloned, even with disenchant. it can work, but it just depends on how much micro the orc has, as well as if the NE is horrible.

gargs are only for harassing. their damage sucks vs. land even when they focus fire. if all they get is gargs, then yes they are 'noob massers' if they use gargs as main army.
