If the orc makes wyws, the elf makes archers.
But if you have something to take the archers down fast, wyws seems pretty good

go watch replays. I remember 1 good replay where zeus masses hunts vs some orc (mb grubby) on GW. Orc won so there u will see how to counter. Just search replay orc vs elf @ GW with zeus, and orc as winner

I think that's the hunt replay I wanted, haven't got wc3 installed right now. See how Grubby uses Raiders to ensnare and focus down hunt after hunt while he is still free to move his wounded units back. Takes a bit of micro, but its still nice.

#2, how would mass air not defeat mass huntress ? since huntress can't attack air i have a hard time picturing huntress win the matchup

ok but elf with dual raX will have 6 archer to one minute and archer is one of best anti air... And dont forget, that mass hunt is often played with tower rush and one hit of tower make almost 70 dmg to wyw, dont talking about the splash. From my wiew of human, make few catas and towers :-D, tech to T3 for bats with oil (elf musnt see them) and destroy elf's main, or at least mine if you dont have enough bats...

Taking out archers is a easy task with wyws, although i wouldn't go for them. That tactic revolves around a tower push from elfs side. At this point orc wont have tier 2 building up. Try harrassing (most lightly kotg or potm) by keeping it down with a low dmg. When u get closer to tier2 make sure ure on his ass all the time, doing hit and run etc.. As soon as u get those tier2 units up raiders and grunts wil easily take down 6-10 hunts with good micro and a sh

Ye, dual beastiaries and add a mix of raiders and wyvs. The elf hasn't got much of counters untill t3, and at that point you can add kodos to the mix. The tricky part is surviving until t2 and getting the beastiaries up. You might want to create a pocket in you base so that you can place at least one beastiary well covered and in the range of burrows. Shadow hunter and hero focus can be quite useful for pushing the elf out of your base.

i suppose raiders/bats , engage army , rape huntresses from air + ensnare while BM takes care of archers.then rush with bats to his base, put down lumberwisps or mine or even tree if u can and see ya ... looks easy , freaking hard to pull off ... more traditional way like old school single Bm hero and winds/demos with oil , poison ...
raiders/walkers are also good but not my style .. i want to learn that cause it's favored nowadays but ..eh ... raiders everywhere ... doggies rulez

If you're playing orc and somebody goes mass hunts on you it usually starts with a harrass then more hunts come in and ff your grunts and theres little you can do about it. you deffinitely dont have time to go mass wyv/wind riders before they can get a mass of hunts on you. the reason nelfs go hunts against orc is because they've never gotten gruntapulted before. 2 demos > 6 hunts, 5 demos > 20 hunts. if you suspect they're hunt rushing you start building another rax as you're teching to tier 2, you should be able to get your 4 grunts going and then pump out some demos as soon as your stronghold is finished, you're also going to want to hit elfs base soon and take out either some moon wells or an AOW, all the lumber they're spending on dual aow and hunts will stop them from massing your real worst fear that you dont even know about yet... mass bears with some dryads. dont go flyers against NELF, archs will mess you, dryads will mess you, and dont gruntapult everytime, only if you see 2aow early hunters hall. you need BM and you need ot be up in their base checking their stuff out. if they AOW creep they are most likely teching to bears. if DH comes at you alone, they're most likely stalling to bears in which gruntapault WILL fail you. The worst Nelf can do to you is mass dotts. ORc always fights with a smaller army, whirlwind makes your army even smaller taking out key units of yours.... @_@ i really dont have a remedy for that ailment
