Goblin shredder questions (1331 reads, 22 replies)
When is an apporpriate time to get this thing?

How many peons is it equivalent to?

Why would you get it sometimes and sometimes not?

it collects 200 and I'd say it equals around 4 peons, but I never calculated lumber harvesting speeds for any of em, so odds are I'm wrong.

if you have one shredder you will need no peons at all for wood :)

^is right, 1 shredder equals no use for wood chopping peons, on the other hand orc doesn't need that much wood, I'd only use it if I was NE or HU tbh.

I might as well ask here... Has anyone used it effectively in offensive pushes? If my memory serves me right Creo used it in some TS mirror, but any other ideas? The dmg output is so nice that I'd love to use it somehow.

I've seen a couple of ne's and humans use it along some peasants/wisps to mass repair it, tends to last a lot and although I'd not say it was the decisive factor for the victory or defeat of the players using it, I do get to say it was fun to see.

only hum/ne needs it...and hum needs it more if its doing fast expo...i would get it as soon as u open ur 2nd expo...as for ne...get it as ur techin to t3...

Grubby uses quite often =) when he got cata also, shredder + cata and his peons can repair both =)

As expressed earlier it all depends on map, type game (1v1,ffa,teamplay, etc) and race.. _Alot_ of the maps in the ladder mappools has very bad tree placement. Adding to the shredders combat ability its worth mentioning they have some magic resistance cuz they are mechanical. (cant entangle them and etc)

well sayin that only ne/hu need them is wrong. i sometimes make fe with orcs... when its almost done i send 4 peons from wood to expo and buy shredder

best game for shredder use is demuslim vs soju (<--not sure) where he used 5 shredders against the warden
