Anyway, i was gona write an indepth post bout nowadays metal but after reading this ive decided not to bother.


Hey man - I too dislike bands like soad or disturbed or killswitch and detest these bands being associated with oldschool metal - but hey different people, different taste in music, different styles and genres!

and another thing which personally insults me - I can list more than 8 metal bands that I regard as my favorites and if that's your criteria - I know the lyrics to most of their albums and understand the meaning and am ready to defend the points made by those lyrics (there are a few I simply love the music but do not agree with the conceptual ideas of lyrics). U don't know the people u haven't met anyone of them to get to know them - then and only then can U decide who is posing and who is not !
and one more thing - I asked about the clothes u goddamn fool, not to pose infront of anyone - if I wanted that I would start a thread "Show me your Slayer t-shirt" - I wanted to know about people and life in other countries .
I asked because I was wondering - OK over here we all buy shit from the metalshop many prefer to wear military boots and shit ... do they do that in USA (probably not judging from Obituary, Testament and other us bands photoshoots ... but hey Corpsegrinder wears boots and so do Deicide ... so is it common for metalheads to wear military boots in the usa ?)

That's what this thread is about u stupid asshole and please do not turn it into a freakin' flamewar !!! after all we ARE brothers of metal :D:D:D:D (god, how I despise manowar)

Yeah... they even have a band. Tenth Level Tauren Cheiftan, or well I think they're now called Level 70 Elite Tauren Chieftain. :P
They're debute album was even released with this bonus game called "WarCraft 3: The Frozen Throne"... :P
Including such classics as 'Power of the Horde' and 'I am Murlock'. :P

bands like SOAD are Alternative Metal. They aren't "Posers' or anything, unless they insist they are metalheads.
I have a wide range of musical tastes, going from nu-metal (ill nino), to brutal death metal (Devourment/Abysmal Torment) to raw black metal (Peste Noire/Mutiilation.)

wait what. Theres no need for u folks to get mad over the simple fact that listing more bands doesnt make u more metal. Im not trying to diss people wearing 'metal' cloths - in fact i love those people. I just cant stand posers and all kinds of profanity. Artanis, i wasnt referring to you in my post, in fact i respect your answer since you took that personal but still kept it reasonable. I think u like various music and theres nothing wrong with that. I wouldnt call myself a metalhead either, even though i do spend a lot of time listening to it.
Yeah, and i fucking love manowar. Shitting on manowar is like shitting on everything else metal that came out those days. Band is fucking awesome and i still listen to it time to time. It might be hard for a poser though since they 'not cool' anymore. Manowar fucking kills.
And talking about being 'true' is just ridiculous. Only 'true' bands were black metal bands back in early 90s. Discussion closed haha. Get a taste folks and talk about somethign substantial, not your military boots.
