Help vs. NE (HU) (2546 reads, 30 replies)
I have been really struggling vs. NE lately. Does anybody consistently beat the NE's with humans? Or does anybody consistently get beat by humans if you play NE? If so, can you help guide me in defeating the elves.

Here is how I match-up vs. the different races:

vs. UD - 99.9% win (almost guarenteed win for me)
vs. HU - 70.0% win (comes down to micro)
vs. OC - 60.0% win (vs. FS as first hero, there is a good chance I will lose)
vs. NE - 25% win (just don't have an answer)

My MK tower rush has not been working vs. the better NE players. I need guidance.

Thank you in advance

So are you suggesting the following:

1) Fast Expand,
2) Tower Base(s),
3) Survive using footies and heroes
4) Tech to tanks and bring it

???????????

Or just add some tanks to my army during the game?

Depending on map I'd fe or not, then I'd most likely start pumping riflmen breakers sorcs and mortars. But to be honest I don't know much about the mu.

Depend on map, Fast exe+ Towers and tanks work on some, but i prefer T2 exe and mass caster/breaker and outmass him. add mortars and/or rifles if needed.

if map is small, you can use 2 Barrack hardcore Footman rush

Bonus add a few towers.

I enjoy pusing with dual sanctums, works pretty well. I really suck at using riflemen tho.

AM/MK or Naga
Foots (with defend!!!!), rifles, breakers, casters, maybe some mortars.
FE with towers and some towers in your base.
but you can try to tower him early ... usually works very well vs elf if you do the towering good ^_^

FE with towers in both bases is the best way. Great microers will outlive the towerrushes.

Thank you for all of your advice.

I have now developed a way to beat the NE consistently. I mass footie (only 1 barracks) power AM to lvl 3, get defend, and bring 5 peasants for a tower rush. It is too overwhelming for the NE to handle.

I have beaten NE's with better micro and who are just better players than me.

Using this strategy with my surround technique, which I learned in this forum as well, I have greatly improved.

Thanks again for helping me.

Meph,I already have the foundamentals established, such as micro, hot keys, etc.  So learning a new strategy and being able to execute it does not take long, especially when you play this game too much as it is.  By the way, I got rocked one game doing this mass footie rush.  Believe it or not, the warden with the fan of blades just mauled my footies.

Even if you have quite the success now with TRing you should learn to play with an expo as well as some maps highly favours that. and when you meet better people later on you will have a hard time towering even if you execute it well. deffing vs a towerrush isn't that hard once you know how to do.

And what exactly do you do #16? Go for peons or units? Or towers?

totally depends on situation. if it's T1 push i build extra AoWs. if his peons is out position and i have enough archers to take out a tower i go for it if not then i don't. if the towers get's uppgraded you sort have to go for the peasents depending on your own numbers and how many peasents he got.
If i go for units or not, you have to mix it. if you focus to much on one thing and he plays well you will be fked, focus units and he microes well you just buy time for his towers, focus towers while he repairs/building new ones and his army will kill yours. hit convient targets, always.

You forgot to mention to go for his hero when possible, a level 3 dh can take out a whole tr by himself. And well, a dh can kill either a naga or am quite fast
