garg micro in ud mirror (870 reads, 10 replies)
i have got the problem that i often loose too many gargs when fighting an ud with the equal strategy (lich first, ghul, later dk and garg) although none of the army's has got an advantage at this time (same hero lvl, items etc.)

so how do you micro them propely? is there a secret?

i dont play ud but i think is about who use nova first and scrool use

Well, I dont think you "micro" them per se, it's more about the timing of the nova, the scroll, the upgrades, and the amount you have, but I don't play undead so I could be wrong.
Also having a stat helps and a vampiric or command aura as well, all those mini things give you a huge edge there for what I've seen.

-Wait with your Nova till they got stacked to one (short before attack)
-Use healscroll and def-scroll
-Set attack-points, so ur gargs dont attack the other lich or dk or a ghoul!
U cant point every garg, but if u got like 3-6, its a good help

I think the positioning of your gargoyles is very important. If you can keep them away from your enemy's lich while luring his or her in to your Novas. Use the terrain (trees etc.) to your advantage.

I used to play ud solo , so having some experience 'bout that.
#3 - Tritox gave you nice tip, focusing garg one by one, you can try it even wit h 'shift', its incredibly helpful.
On the other hand, you can try cast 'nova' just before gargs will 'clash'. Nova is slowing movement and attacks so it should work as a debuff. Moreover, I know it's a bit silly, but you can put a 'frost armor' on few gargs. Yes, I know, all liches takes nova/d.ritual. It's always another idea.

group gargs in 2-3 groups (depends how many you have) and send each group to target 1 garg at the time -> you shouldn't need too much micro for that imo
alos nova and scroll use as some already said :)

Dont focus all your gargs at one, just make sure they dont attack other units. If you see a garg or more focusing anything but gargs, then make them focus a gargoyles.
Use your novas properly.
Never fight a player with a healing scrool, if u dont have.
Try to avoid fights against a stronger lich.
Try to fight a place where hes lich cant reach the gargs so well, but yours can, then just use a nova and take 1-3 gargs down. You have to expect he micro hes gargs back instantly, and when frost nova hit your gargs fly them to your lich.
You dont need protection scrool.
Focus more on garg numbers than upgrade them.
Only use one hero (lich) before he reaches lvl 5.
When u got 40-50 limit upgrade
Statue is mainly used to prevent harras and nova before battles (opponent go in and nova gargs before fight to take down their HP, but also quite good in fights. Not neccessary though.
If he got ghouls and u dont, keep an eye on your lich so it dont die (lost a few games cuz of that :D)
If you lose a bigger garg battle, then start making fiends, and get a lvl 3 DK. If you keep massing gargs, when he got upper hand, comeback is almost impossible.

just dont make gags, make 4-6 fiends with web & burrow, web some gargs and burrow and let ur ghouls kill the gargs ^_^ then unburrow and same again..

ghuls gargs rape fiends easily. if u have frenzy and lvl3 lich. if your enemy plays fiends he has to use dk as firsthero so u should be lvl3 with your lich before he is with his then rape him. and i forgot it. vs fiends orb+massgargs also solves. web isnt that dangeroud if u take care
