Hi there guys, it's been a long time since I played classic W3 except DotA, and I'm kind of "in it" again. I've tried all the races, back in old days, I prefered NE and UD. That was like 2 years ago, and I want to start all over again.

So I picked UD, since they are still my beloved race, and I'd like you guys to help me with some issues.

I usually mass Gargs, because it's the most simple for me, but obviously it doesn't work against each race.

So what are the most basic strats against each race? I want to start with something basic and later do the other builds.

I know that you will say to watch the replays, I usually am watching, but it doesn't work all by itself.

Few questions

1. Against which race is good to mass Gargs and when? Same for fiends?
2. DK always first hero?
3. Frost wyrms? Viable against which races?
4. On which maps should I practice?

hm gargs work mostly against elf and mirror , and on hu sometimes

dk = <3 :P , not first in mirror , unless u go fiend

wyrms r good against all races d; , 1 or 2

Thanks :) Yes, I love DK as well, but I've never seen CL or DL in some "higher" games. Dunno if they are viable.

HU: Fiends/Destroyers/Statue
ORC: Ghouls/Fiends/Destroyers/Statue
NE: Ghouls/Gargoyles/Wyrm/Statue
UD: Ghouls/Gargoyles/Statue

It also depends on the map.

if u want to play basic, with good micro and brain u can win many games with just fiends dk-lich-cl..

massing 1 kind of units always sucks, too easy to counter

dk always 1st hero except in ud mirror, then u can do use whatever hero u want

wyrms in solo only if u have expo, too easy to counter.

practice most used solo maps : TM,TR,TS,EI,LT

vs hum = ghoul, stat, abo, cata, destro

vs orc = ghoul, fiend, stat, abo/destro, buy mass skele rods

vs elf = ghouls, cata, abo, destro

vs ud = ghouls, fast expo, mass air+fiends / norm fiends destro

vs hu = dk panda ghoul garg(if ur harrass was good and there arent millions of towers, or dessi
vs orc = dk lich (frenzy)ghoule gargs
vs elf = dk (if u play vs dh, u should skill aura first, cause so he`s not able to harrass u very well = surround ftw) gargs or be cool play dk lich dr with abo fiend dessi :D
mirror is dk lich fiends dessi or lich dk ghoul garg or lich dl (sleep the dk so no heal for lich, if solo lich, guess who u sleep :) )

gargs are good vs elf and undead you can try vs human but is hard
fiends work vs all
2. DK always first hero? if play fiends YES/ vs ne you can try dl/2 barracks ghouls and for undead miror when you play gargs play with lich
3. Frost wyrms? Viable against which races? vs elfs are good but you have to have a lot of gargs to suppert the frosts/ vs humans are very good/vs orc only if you have fiends and air if you dont they will die fast
4. On which maps should I practice? just play ladder its the best training if you start playing coz you see a lot of starts

Little basic of UD vs elf, seen from undeads side of view :

vs DH: Start creeping into lvl 2, for aura and coil. If DH harrashes you take aura at first spell, so dont hestitate at picking a spell. When u have 7-9 ghouls you attack. You upgrade whenever the resources allow you to. its very important to kill some archers. If you got the skills, take 2 ghouls and focus wispes with them, since its hard for elf to micro wispes, while he has to keep archers alive. The more moon juice you drain, the better, because he cant creep hes panda then. When T2 comes, have dual crypt ready for gargs. Push him early with the gargs, and mb a few ghouls just to prevent hium from creeping, and try to take down a few units, while teching for T3. If posible, then just own hes dryads if u got like 10 gargs against 4 dryads, but always tech for T3. In T3 you get statue, a lich with and a few frostys (for bears, no dessis vs DH). Then just creep a bit, and push wispes and moon well with gargs. off cause you need to spot with shade to prevent him from getting exe.

vs BM/DR: Harras him, while maybe creeping a weak spot with your ghouls. Get coil first. When u got 7-9 ghouls, send them to your DK, and go for a rush. Its not 100% neccessary to have an aura, but its very nice. In T2 you can take a naga and start making fiends out of 1 crypt, while teching for T3. Harras him with Dk / naga untill dryads comes, when the dryads comes just stay back and creep untill lich with orb comes. Then its basically just about massing fiends / dessis with a Dk / naga / lich with orb.

vs Warden: its more complicated, try to stop him from getting a lvl 3, but rushing into hes base is often hard. Fast creep to lvl 2 vs warden, since harras dont work at all. In T2 start going gargs, while teching on for T3. In T3 get a lich, and maybe make some abos / dessis (mostly against tech to bears), frostys, fiends... All depend much at the game.

That were a little basic insight in the UD vs elf MU, but it would take forever to explain all the MU's of UD, so i stick to this one.
Just want to add this : mass gargs dont work against elf, unless you can push hes dryads, when he got DH, but you need T3 anyway since stoneform is imba, and so is orb
