Scrub Match: Orc Vs. NE, Help? (1568 reads, 17 replies)
Hey. I'm still a pretty low-tier player, but I need some help. I've lost twice as Orc to a Night Elf "friend", who tends to tower, expand in T2, and then mass Hippogryph riders. At first, I expected absolutely nothing from this guy, so I went with joke-strats (TC + Grunts / Raiders and TC / BM - Grunts / Wind Riders), but evidently, I think I'm going to have to play seriously. I don't want to risk any of these next matches, so I was wondering what I should do to cinch a victory. My first plan was to end the game quickly due to his weak T1 and harass him to hell, before finishing with a T2 Grunt/Demo push. Of course, I'll pick a better hero these coming games (BM > TC, likely) and try a better anti-air strategy, but whenever I've managed to get out my batriders, he usually kills one or two, which leaves most of them barely alive as he swallows my base.

As per our agreement, I'm going to stay orc, he's going to stay Nelf. I do want to know, though, what I should consider to make sure I can beat Hippo-Hunts, and also, if there are any strategies that can beat this while staying viable for his other strategies if he goes anything different.

EDIT: Keep in mind, I'm still not a great player. My Raider Micro, for example, is still very sluggish.

Well hipporiders might just have to be the worst strategy in the book against orc. Scout regularly if you notice he's going for hipporiders make some bats and it's game over.
I guess mass HHs to T3 and caster tauren stuff can work too if he towers alot and as you said gruntapult (and towers) should work too.

If wisp gave 10 lumber every time, elf would have NO weakness at all, and they would be the strongest race by far

I should've updated by now.

Regardless, it's 2-1 my favour. I've beaten him twice without losing a unit, and he's refusing to play me again. I went BM first for a harass, and he ended up camping his entire army in his base for the remainder of the game. I just did a grunt/Demo push as he was going to T2.

How can u lose to NE with orcs they are the wekest race you can either go in there 12 grunt 12 raider and the BM(best hero ever) u dont even need tier 3 possible with bloodlust shamen but u dont need them

Nerubian Towers are required to stop the Superman. But I don't think a DH has ever gotten that many Acolyte kills in a game. Still, DH's girlfriend Warden can do this perfectly with Blink, kind of like the Mountain King because 1 cast of spell=1 dead Acolyte.

That's why I had to put my Lich in base all the time, just waiting for the Warden to show up and try to Dark Ritual the Acolytes before the imba girlfriend can SM them with her killer spells :(
