Hi everyone

A fantastic thing of internet is to discover people from all over the world. I wanted to try a little thread to introduce the city where you live, even briefly. Don't flame me, I'm just curious

I'll start with mine:

I live in a city of the south west of France called Pau (meaning "wall" in some kind of ancient local language). During the begining of the XIXth century, lots of people from british aristocracy lived here.
We are one hour far from the moutains and the frontier with Spain (ski during winter !) and from the atlantic ocean, that's why the area is invaded by tourists from all Europe every season of the year

We do have a nice Castle where the king of France "Henri IV" lived in


There are some 160 000 citizens, most of us are retired or students (lots of parties and animation in the streets after 22PM ). South west of France is a place where we drink a lot of alcool

I live in Lidköping
A small town right under the huge lake "Vänern", in South-western Sweden. In the town it lives about 30,000 people, it's pretty ok. I think the city was formed because of that traders that was going all over sweden met at this point and made it a trading post.

"Rådhuset", the only joke Lidköping is known for... -.-


Apparently this lady lives in Lidköping. I don't know who she is but she popped up when I googled for "Lidköping".

And about Linköping hmm... Well uh.. We have something called the Linköping blood bath. It doesn't happen very often though...

I'm living in Menden, and we got 65k ppl in here.




this is our library (and our old 'Rathaus' (does any1 know what Rathaus means on English? cant find it anywhere o.O)). Nowadays it has another Color aswell.

I live in a small city placed on north-west of Poland, called Świnoujście (Świna is a river,Ujście means estuary ;) ) My city is placed on 44 islands, but only two are resident - Uznam (half of this island belong to Germany, half to Poland) and Wolin
This is a health resort (i dont know, how can i use these words), tourist and harbour city. I have in my city a beautyfull beach, a lots of hotels, and a pretty girls.
There are about 45.000 citizens, but at (or ON correct please ;) ) holidays there are more than 100.000.
