GosuAwards 2012: Best AP Carry

ggawards%20new.jpg

We introduce the GosuGamers Awards for 2012, the first edition for League of Legends. We have analyzed the best potential candidates to choose from and it's up to you to decide who reigns dominant over the others and stands out as the best AP carry in the rift.

BEST AP CARRY OF THE YEAR 2012

Denmark Henrick "Froggen" Hansen

FroggenAward.jpgFroggen obviously needs little introduction. From the depths of Reddit to the headlines of all E-Sports sites, Froggen is popular and for good reason. He consistently sets farm records and is so good, that generally all three bans are necessary if you don't want him to carry the game for his team. His anivia is played on a level that nearly no one can parallel and his consistency is stunning.

Froggen is feared and his opponents tremble before his masterful play, making him worthy of top AP carry.

Hong Kong Kurtis "Toyz" Lau

763b7d239570a32d003f933ad0dc0865b0480ddb2b1bc14338d6a79500.jpgFor the longest time, it has been thought that the Europeans have the strongest mid laners. If you said Toyz gave them a run for their money, that would be putting it ever so lightly. Toyz has smashed mid laners and ripped apart opposition ever since the Taipei Assassins most famous global debut at the Season 2 World Championships.

Toyz is an irreplaceable asset to his team and typically makes his lane opponent look sub-par, breaching him into the top AP carries list of 2012.

With the most recent performances, Weixiao rightfully deserves a spot for the Best AD Carry.

Spain Enrique "xPeke" Martinez

Even when farming was the most efficient method in the metagame, xPeke found ways to assist his team countless times.

xPeke is a great team player, can keep up in farm, and put tons of pressure on other lanes, deserving him a spot as a top AP carry.

Russia Alexey "Alex Ich" Ichetovkin

6f7790c1ed99011c45e0e846449bc62d32cb72eb69b18324d49e342ad3.jpgAlex Ich is paramount and an absolutely critical necessity to Moscow 5's lineup. When Moscow 5 developed their aggressive Counter Jungling style with bottom lane and Diamondprox shoving hard to invade unwelcomed into enemy territory, Alex was right there behind them to back them up. If Alex ich has a weakpoint, it's near impossible to pinpoint, but if you are looking for a strong point, you best watch out for his midgame on the tanky AP champions, because you will get rolled.

All of this and more is accomplished and the man is married. If this doesn't earn him a spot on this list as top AP carry, I don't know what does.

China Yu "Misaya" Jingxi

MisayaAward.jpgWhen most players play Twisted Fate, it's an annoyance and you must play with caution to cope with the pressure. If you let Misaya choose Twisted Fate, he is an absolute monster and you will have nightmares the day you let him choose this champion in a competitive atmosphere. However, Misaya is not heralded as a one trick pony and can play a variety of champions.

It just so happens if you let him choose those champions, your demise will be quick, but it will be very very painful and haunt you for the rest of your E-Sports career. Misaya deserves to be on the top 10 list of AP Carries for these reasons.

Korea Kim "SSONG" Sang-soo

SSongAward.jpgEven if SSONG is well regarded in Korea, he does not get the respect he deserves in the international scene. A little known fact is that SSONG had the best KDA in all of the World Championships on a team that didn't even make it to the quarter finals at the World Championships. That should give you a decent gauge of his carrying potential. What's more is he is one of the reasons that Diana became feared, hardly ever losing a game on Diana.

Because of his remarkable capability of simply not dying and maintaining high CS scores will still applying pressure, SSONG gets a spot as a top AP carry.

United States Andy "Reginald" Dinh

ReginaldAward.jpgThe first thing you think of when you think Reginald (aside from Baylife) is "aggressive playstyle." 100% true to the infamous phrase, Reginald is often hyper aggressive and synergizes well with TheOddOne to make plays that carry his team to victory. Not only his he one of the top contenders in the world, but he also is recognized as one of the first to make a pentakill in a streamed professional league of legends match.

Reginald is a player that puts fear in your eyes by threatening you every time you go in for a CS due to his aggression, and this lands him a spot in the top AP carries.

Korea Minseong "RapidStar" Jeong

RapidstarAward.jpgRapidStar is another man on this list as "most undervalued AP in the scene." Firstly and most obviously, he plays for Azubu Frost, who placed second in the Season 2 World Championships. Secondly, he is practically his own aimbot at skill shot champions. His Lux and Anivia would given Froggen a run for his money.

For these reasons, RapidStar most definitely deserves to be a top contender for top AP Carry, as he's showcased remarkable skill all season.

Korea Kang "Ambition" Chan-yong

617baaaf895c70952996a975a8fccaf98bd44b6eb553665196dc9bf05a.jpg

This list would not be completely without the addition of Ambition. Ambition boasts some of the greatest Diana and Twisted Fate win rates of any champion, and to no surprise. He plays for one of the strongest teams in South Korea and has been playing other games like Starcraft for the past 10 years. Ambition, once looking up to bigfatjiji in his NA days, surpasses him in his current state as most would agree, as he was once also a very successful solo queue player before Korea had its own servers.

Through experience that has clearly paid off topped with his beautiful play and capabilities of applying pressure for his other teammates, Ambition receives a spot as a Top AP Carry.
