- It was actually smart from TH000 not build a new army (actually he tried and lost it twice in the process if you watch). In this game both side have an ability to kill units one by one in a way that's very hard to prevent. TH000 being late means he has to flee when there are encounters ; and fleing against undead means losing lots of units in the process. OTOH TH000 heroes are very resistant and can afford hit and run. This way TH000 becomes the one slowly killing Ted's army.
- Ted couldn't attack TH000's base because the main base has the ability to turn peons into militia that's actually very good against fiend. And Ted's heroes weren't strong enough at that time to quickly wipe a militia. Last but not least Pala and Dwarf were still menacing (high level both)
- If you pay more attention you'll realise than Ted leaves when he has lost two heroes and most of his army - he has no base and no way to kill any of TH000's heroes, and actually very little chance to flee and nowhere to hide. In other words he's toasted... Also note that TH000 at the very end of the game enlarge his gryphon's army from 2 to 6. Check Gryphon's data and you'll see that's a pretty strong army. And TH000 does the last battle with all datas in hand, computing the perfect fight management, while Ted discovers all those gryphons when it's too late and has no escape route.
- and this is RR because getting a base unseen from an undead with that much Shadows just because you are bold enough to take it right next to his base and distract him with beacons bases is pretty much unseen at that level of competition :P
... and that's why TH000 outplayed Ted who was skilled, but not smart, hence disserve his loss and TH000 his win. :P
